  1. on the subject of steps and throwing ones self of of things, I have a psychiatric evaluation next week. It is likely that I am going to be offered the opportunity to be signed out of work for extended sick leave again. Unfortunately, if I take that choice I will almost certainly be fired. So which is it to be? My mental health, or my job?

    1. @ceruleanspark Surely they'd understand you leaving for something like that?

      1. @mastertdi Given that they're the direct cause of the problem, no, they would not.

      1. @neurario In truth it's not really a choice. The british government is just as awful to the unemployed as my employer is to me. I get to be miserable either way.

        1. @ceruleanspark Huh, somehow I never picked up on you being a Brit. Well, I can see how you're damned if you do, damned if you don't, but I guess personally I would take the evaluation. When I say 'personally' I mean 'the me that lives in my head', but, yeah.

          1. @neurario I'm definitely going to the evaluation. It's just up to me if I action the advice that comes out of it. Last time I went to one, I took the time off work that they recommended, but this at my yearly review I was told not take any more sick leave, with an off the record "Or else" so..
