    1. @critialcloudkicker 3rd's better. :P

      1. @flamingpandaomg ... The 3rd game is not better than the 2nd game silly goose... Or at least it rubbed me in all the wrong way. There is no proper backstory for anything and the story is worse than the 2nd IMHO

        1. @critialcloudkicker Who cares about story when you can punch people across the map.

          1. @flamingpandaomg I do. This Dr Ogenki or whatever that Japanese gameshow in SR3 was ... I would have liked to have some sort of backstory, also the pacing is for what I am concerned all wrong. You start off the game throwing top knotch military missles and hellfire drones to your heart content... I played the game and I think I agree with Ben Crossaw almost 100% here, And yes I did finish SR3 and it never gave me as much statisfaction as... Oh I dunno... Killing Veteran Child in SR2... Know what ? I might do it a 2nd time once I get myself a proper mission do over doodaddy ( I think SR2 had one natively, not sure ) ... And see if I can puncture the tripple platinum DJ\s chin with a katana... And yes the sheer idea of that sort of sits way better with me than SR3 ever did in any of the missions.

            2. @critialcloudkicker It's a gameshow they host in SR3.

              1. @flamingpandaomg Remember the septic avenger missions, the first time you got into one you got a cut scene of 2 people saying a bit of hoojunk about lowering property value, and the gay guy continues to throw somewhat witty lines at you during the whole avenging mission. Now this Jap-pop-culture game show in SR3 feels really bland to me. Like someone just gave me something to do without proper incentive and they just assuming that I know why I am doing this. Is it because it is a game and you can ? That is not proper incentive to the likes of me. Do I want to play Borderlands2 because I like the the prospect of finding loot after loot and keep upgrading my arsenal to kill stuff better all the time ? Absolutely not. First time through I wanted to meet Handsome Jack, which I did and then I wanted to become the ultimate badass in the crater of badassitude... TORGUE !!!... The story is very important to me.

            3. @critialcloudkicker sr3 was ridiculous, yeah, but sr2 has the big downside of being too rough for 2008.

                1. @nerthos Oh wow you found a bug in a game. Does that mean that it is a bad game ? If the answer to that question would be yes, then there would be no good games on the market. And in the end of the day people like me would still prefer SR2 over SR3 since... SR3 did not connect with me

Tuesday, 21-May-13 01:04:26 UTC from web
                  1. @critialcloudkicker No, it's not about a bug. I'm used to finding bugs. It's about the whole engine being rough. I mean I can't hit a gangster that grabbed someone as a shield no matter how I aim the shot, and npcs keep doing weird manouvers with their cars and crashing against my pimpmobile.

                    1. @nerthos Point taken there, but did you see the Yahtzee thing I posted a few minutes ago ? ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPYofAaVG2g ) ... Please do not tell me that you can not agree with me here that during the polishing of everything ( minus the character customization ) the game lost flavour over all sorts of whackyness. I myself get rather bored rather quick if the number 1 thing to do something hilarious or unthinable to do in everyday life, but if you have a game which seems to only do that I get bored really fast TBH, Oh what is that giant purple papayas in my inventory, you like to meet the face of this zombie I am fighting, well boo ducking hoo, I have a shotgun here which is more than eager to give them the proper fluffshot they need, not to mention that it gives me personally a way greater feeling of accomplishment than crushing them to death with a giant grapes for the umphteenth time because appearently there is a multiplayer mode which only does just that.

                      1. @critialcloudkicker Yeah, I agree on that. The story of 3 is lacking, and too short. How I finished it almost completely in 5 days is evidence of that. Still, if they had 2's story with 3's engine, well THAT would be a good game.

                            1. @nerthos I am playing 2 right now for the sake of playing something cool. I do not legally own 3 since I thought it would not be worth my money. I will probably buy it as a GOTY later though. ( Since all those DLC's are... not sitting well with me )

Tuesday, 21-May-13 01:26:17 UTC from web
                              1. @critialcloudkicker I have a fun story with 3. I have a legal copy and yet I'm playing a pirated version, because it weighted half as much and I wasn't OK with Steam's restrictions.

Tuesday, 21-May-13 01:30:19 UTC from web
                                1. @nerthos What do you mean "weighted half as much" ?

Tuesday, 21-May-13 01:31:12 UTC from web
                                  1. @critialcloudkicker 5gb as opposed to 10.

                                    1. @nerthos What in the world could cause that ?

Tuesday, 21-May-13 01:34:05 UTC from web
                                      1. @critialcloudkicker Better compression. Repacked installers usually bother to compress the game files into a custom installer. Steam doesn't care.

Tuesday, 21-May-13 01:34:48 UTC from web
                                        1. @nerthos Well, steam does not have to care. Still if your primary hobby is not computer related, you would not like it that way

Tuesday, 21-May-13 01:36:35 UTC from web
                                          1. @critialcloudkicker I would not like it that way? How so? Smaller files mean faster downloads and less DVDs used to store it.

                                            1. @nerthos I have no intention of storing it anyway.

                                              1. @critialcloudkicker I'm curious as to why you said "you would not like it that way"

Tuesday, 21-May-13 01:40:05 UTC from web
                                                1. @nerthos I was thinking along the logic that if something is your primary hobby a lot of money goes into it. What do I care about 5GB if it is just a flavor of the week game ?

Tuesday, 21-May-13 01:42:25 UTC from web
                                                  1. @critialcloudkicker Yeah, I agree with the "money goes into it" part. But I still don't get why someone would preffer a 10GB download over a 5GB one.

Tuesday, 21-May-13 01:44:41 UTC from web
                                                    1. @nerthos Never, noone would ever prefer a 10GB download over a 5GB download for the same content. However the amount is so small that I do not see anyone actually losing a fuse over it or something.

Tuesday, 21-May-13 01:49:01 UTC from web
                                                      1. @critialcloudkicker That's relative to your internet connection.

Tuesday, 21-May-13 01:49:45 UTC from web
                                                        1. @nerthos So in the end the people with really bad connections steer away from it, and almost nobody scowers the internet to contribute to the movement to make it smaller. And those voices are forever lost on the echoing sea's of Torrenting sites. Did anything of value truely lose here ?

Tuesday, 21-May-13 01:51:48 UTC from web
                                                          1. @critialcloudkicker You'd be surprised about how many people care about size of downloads.

Tuesday, 21-May-13 01:53:16 UTC from web
                                                            1. @nerthos Perhaps I would be, perhaps their whines are being silenced by my auto-brain-block feature when I scower the internet for usable information.

Tuesday, 21-May-13 01:54:24 UTC from web
                                                              1. @critialcloudkicker I guess it all comes down to the reality that pirate software is less restrictive and generally less resource consuming than legal software due to DRMs.

Tuesday, 21-May-13 01:56:03 UTC from web
                                                                1. @nerthos Pretty much, Which in turn begs the question. Why would I ever "buy" games if pirating them is more efficient ?

Tuesday, 21-May-13 01:57:24 UTC from web
                                                                  1. @critialcloudkicker Mostly out of support towards the companies, that's the real reason I ever buy games. Companies need to change what they're doing before more people start boarding the pirate ships.

Tuesday, 21-May-13 01:58:49 UTC from web
                                                                    1. @nerthos Honestly I started to buy most of my games somewhere in 2010 when I finally got the means to buy games online. And then BF3, DNF, Diablo 3, and other games for which I payed full price and turned out to be simply not worth their money popped up their ugly heads. I am genuinly unsure whether to even bother buying the Skyrim GOTY when it arrives or whether I should just pirate the hell out of it. Bethesda seems to be one of the last companies who are on my like-list after all. BF4 and the likes however can go ahead and rot in hot brimstone for all I care. And I will probably pirate them for the singleplayer. Speaking of singleplayers you probably should have played, I am unsure if I should play the singleplayer of Modern Warfare 3 ( which would require some pirating ) ... Or just watch it like a movie on Youtube.

Tuesday, 21-May-13 02:04:58 UTC from web
                                                                      1. @critialcloudkicker Yes, few companies still make games worth the prices. Blizzard used to be one of them, and I was going to buy Diablo 3, until the whole "always online" thing surfaced. Bethesda, as disappointing Skyrim was, still makes games worth the money, and so do some other companies. An issue I have with buying games is the whole "digital download" thing. I'm from the era all things came in disks, and it just doesn't sit right with me to buy air (not bringing into account my general dislike of the idea of owning a card unless neccesary).

Tuesday, 21-May-13 02:13:40 UTC from web
