      @redenchilada my work laptop does that at least once a week. If you can, switch to linux. Best way to start is download wubi and install to windows.

          @redenchilada wubi installs the easiest dual boot setup I've ever seen. Keeps windows alive while you learn to use WINE to emulate windows.
