            @pony Ren'py is the name. It's pretty dang easy, I think. It uses code but it must be very dumbed down since I've had few problems learning this thing from scratch.

              @mastertdi nice! I'll give it a try. Does it simply display images, text, and allow input for "if ... then" or does it do anything fancy like random number generation, scene transitions (e.g. fade, cut, dissolve)?

                @pony I haven't gone through all of it yet, but from the tutorial I can tell you there are transitions, and I'd be surprised if you couldn't have things like random generation or similar things.
