@mrdragon I was trying to check what our MySQL server is running at. I benched my personal server, and an SSD backed one, and I wanted to see what a larger servers results were like.

@mrdragon It's nginx, I just pinged it. You running a PHP Opcode cache? Memcached? PHP-FPM instead of fastcgi? What's your database running on?

@mrdragon I bet they've done those things anyway. Well, I'm experimenting with how much performance it's possible to squeeze out of a group of low-end servers. I can let you know if I come across anything interesting.

@ceruleanspark Cordite, my techie is busy working on a Cloud system for us, something simple that can be run off of a low end place. As for how it all works, I know not really. I stopped meddling in it all after I gave up RDN. PHP-Fox itself (The softawre we use for the social network) is horridly designed both front and back-end. We have issues all the time, only way to even keep the site usable is to forcefully clear the cache every 10 minutes.

@mrdragon with an outdated version of apache that we couldn't upgrade as our webserver. I learned a lot though.

@ceruleanspark £55 a month. It's holding the forums up that used to be RDN's, a few MC servers for me and friends and a TS server. And a couple other sites too

@mrdragon That's not too bad. I'm on a tiny 1GB VPS that costs about a tenner.

@ceruleanspark Can't get mine anymore, instead of two duel cores it's a single quad core. I just like having it there really, you never know when it'll come in handy
