I rather like the terms filly fooler and colt cuddler. I know they're supposed to have a negative connotation, but I find them to be somewhat comforting.

@floofyhoof Ugh! Have to agree to disagree with you on that. :/

@astra Why so? I think a lot of my fondness for them is because the male term implies an extra level of intimacy, whereas the female term seems more fun-loving and flingish. Typically those traits are applied to the opposite gender, and I like that it sort of balanced the two out.

@floofyhoof I think that part of what makes it sound creepy is the underage connotation. It's another case of hyper-sugar-coating of sexual language to the point of creepiness, a la the furry term "yiff". Seriously. Is saying that a pony is a lesbian or gay REALLY so difficult that we have to come up with cutesy terms to get around actually saying it? *looks down, notices the soap box, blushes and steps down*

@astra Never did like that Y word. But yeah, I can see why the suggestion of pedophilia would be a turn off, and why you would want to be more straight forward about a mature subject like that. I can respect your well thought out opinion.

@floofyhoof Yes, like I said, I think it's an agree-to-disagree thing. If other folks use it, that's their thing. I know that it's my own hang-up. There's nothing out-and-out offensive about it, so I don't hold it against them. Just a matter of preference, and a personal vibe. As for the "Y word", yes, any hope for me finding anything other than revulsion and creepiness with it was pretty much killed when someone propositioned me with it, in person, in this horribly whiney, nasal, slimy trying-to-be-sly-and-cute voice. *shudder* Even when I see it in text on SecondLife, I mentally read it with that voice. It seems the natural tone for it. :p

@astra A civil disagreement on the Internet coming to a mutual understanding of each other's point of view? This is why ponies are awesome. *hugs* Also, sorry to hear you got propositioned in such a manor :/

@floofyhoof It's just proof that ponies will somehow bring about the end of the Internet. Or are perhaps the next phase in evolution of it. I can certainly hope so, anyway. ;) And, yes, creepy guy was creepy. I think we all have creepy guys and/or girls who at least acutely emotionally traumatize us at some point in our lives. If not, we need to worry, because we might actually be the creepy ones! Eep!
