@redenchilada I see you're talking about emulators, I do PS1, PS2, Dreamcast, and other console emulators, so I could help you a bit atleast.

@diobrando No, the problem is the emulators available don't play DK64 properly. There are glitches in a lot of places (and the ones that would be useful in a speedrun don't work because it emulates lag differently). I'm well aware of how to set up an emulator :/

@redenchilada Oh yeah, some roms online don't work too well with any emulator.
Sunday, 30-Jun-13 02:47:13 UTC from web-
@diobrando It's not the ROM that's the problem. It's the emulators.
Sunday, 30-Jun-13 02:49:05 UTC from web-
@redenchilada Really? I'm sure it's some roms' problems, I'm talking about emulating in general, because I haven't experienced some graphical glitches on games like SSB, or Kirby 64 - until I changed plugins and emulators.

@diobrando Pretty sure. I got the information from the DK64 speedrunning and TAS scene. (It's why DK64 [and Banjo-Tooie] don't have TASes yet; DK64 emulates super weirdly and Tooie just crashes sometimes.)

@redenchilada I hated Banjo Kazooie, so I wouldn't know problems with Tooie at all. I actually quite hate most games on N64 to be honest.

@diobrando You must have had a very messed-up childhood. I feel sorry for you.

@redenchilada No, I take video games very objectively, really some of my favorite games include SA2, JJBA, Battlefield 2, Tekken 3, Bushido Blade 2, etc.

@redenchilada I love Banjo Kazooie's control, artstyle, and general look. But I can't stand playing for 15+ hours just collecting crap.
Sunday, 30-Jun-13 02:55:57 UTC from web-
@diobrando Yeah collectathons generally aren't games you can play for long stretches. I like them a lot when I can play a bit at a time and split it up among a ton of play sessions.

@redenchilada I end up going back to it for like 5 minutes at a time, then I just quit out of anger of collecting bullapples.

@diobrando So far with PS2 I've had no problems with PCSX2 0.98. You need a big selection of plugins though because some games work on one and not the others. I'd recommend making a text file and writing down the proper selection of plugins for each game once you've found one, because otherwise with ten or so games you'll get really confused on what goes with what. Some parts of specific games can't be properly emulated, mind that, due to differences in hardware architecture between the console's original hardware and that of PCs.

@redenchilada Really, I stick to .iso emulating or just ripping from my own CDs.

@redenchilada Very true. I wanted to play DK64 once on my tablet. Behold, every wall can be walked through, including the level portal trigger
Sunday, 30-Jun-13 02:48:11 UTC from web-
@coffeecream Well, the game isn't much better on N64... it's not /that/ bad, though.

@redenchilada So, you've ever emulated PS2 or PS1 games? Because I can't seem to get Tekken 4 to work without lagging for the life of me. Or budokai tenkaichi 2 without graphics glitchin.
Sunday, 30-Jun-13 02:48:30 UTC from web-
@diobrando Only PS1. I wouldn't know how to fix PS2 emulation. I just play anything released after 2000 on console.
Sunday, 30-Jun-13 02:49:45 UTC from web-
@redenchilada Oh, well I just to stick to Persona 4 and Budokai tenkaichi 3 anyways. lol
