    1. @nerthos that's a fun little game

      1. @rarity I personally never found it appealing from screenshots, but I've heard so many good things about it that for that price I might as well buy it.

        1. @nerthos What happens when GoG dies ?

          1. @critialcloudkicker We cry.

            1. @nerthos I mean game-ownership wise... When Steam dies every steam user kinda loses all of their games. Except for a small probably never to see the truth of day promise by Gaben

              1. @critialcloudkicker Nothing happens to your games. GoG sells DRM-free games. You still keep all of your installers, manuals, OSTs and other stuff as long as you have downloaded them.

              2. @critialcloudkicker I thought there was a way to run Steam games without Steam..

                1. @rarity Yes, cracking them

Thursday, 04-Jul-13 17:29:33 UTC from web
                2. @rarity There's an offline mode, and Gaben's already said that if Steam ever went belly-up that they'd make all of their games offline indefinitely so you wouldn't lose anything.

                  1. @flamingpandaomg @nerthos Yeah, I definitely just logged out of Steam, shut down the process, went into my program files, and started up Isaac without Steam.

                    1. @rarity Iunno. I don't think most games will work that way, but I'm probably wrong.

                      1. @flamingpandaomg @rarity Only some games will work that way. Terraria will, Monaco won't. It's unpredictable

                        1. @ceruleanspark That's the bad thing about Steam. We all just assume it won't go anywhere, which makes me uneasy but it's really hard to get anywhere near the same deals on games for the most part and it makes game management easy.

                          1. @flamingpandaomg I don't assume it won't go anywhere. I don't trust Gaben further than I could throw him, which, given his mass, is not very far at all.

Thursday, 04-Jul-13 17:39:36 UTC from web
                            1. @ceruleanspark That's why if I buy any games it's usually through the Humble Bundles. I won't feel nearly as bad if the games I got totaled 5% of what they would retail. I'd still feel horrible but I wouldn't go ballistic.

                          2. @flamingpandaomg If steam goes down you just download proper cracks for the games you own and you'll be able to play them

                            1. @nerthos technically you don't own them

Thursday, 04-Jul-13 17:43:05 UTC from web
                              1. @rarity That's irrelevant once you crack them

Thursday, 04-Jul-13 17:43:51 UTC from web
                                1. @nerthos which is illegal. I'm not opposed to breaking the law, but I am opposed to going to jail. With all the NSA crap going on in the US right now I'm not doing jack.

Thursday, 04-Jul-13 17:45:56 UTC from web
                                  1. @rarity Is it illegal to crack a game you bought? Man, your laws suck.

                                    1. @nerthos Once again, you don't actually buy games you download. You purchase a license.
