The worst part about the internet is that someone, somewhere, will refuse to let you enjoy something.

@starlynx someone always hates what you like, no exceptions.
-
@southpaw exactly. And for someone reason, I'm attracted to the places that those people post at.
-
@starlynx r/atheism one of the most spiteful places on the internet.
-
@southpaw how so
-
@southpaw (I don't go on reddit so I dunno)

@southpaw In this moment I am euphoric, not because of some phony gods blessing, but because I am enlightened by my intelligence

@southpaw I bet. I've heard it's a collective hivemind so to speak. I'm speaking about /v/ and /sp/ on 4chan. I post on those boards relatively often, and it doesn't matter the topic, people will find a way to dislike what you like

@prettypurpleprincesspublicprincesstimeline Religion is already thin ice and almost everything from there is very negative, I don't mean to inspire any kind of negative feelings from myself, but people on the particular subreddit can be really nasty
-
@starlynx yep

@southpaw To understand the give and take watch Atheist experience. The pattern is, two people are neutral towards each other, the theist and the non-theist. Theist makes a claim or defends someone else's claim. Logical/argumental fallacies ensue. non-theist points out fallacies. Theist gets defensive because theist FEELS like he is being attacked when he is not, only the claim he defends. After theist gets upset and his defense becomes more passionate and typically less reasonable, this starts to anger non-theist because non-theist typically comes from background of people who are encouraged/rewarded for telling him he is an idiot that will burn in heck. Both the theist and non-theist exhibit two unique forms of misdirected anger towards each other.

@prettypurpleprincesspublicprincesstimeline sounds very interesting. I know it comes from both sides and in the end nobody really wins.
-
@southpaw the problem is some sides think they win
-
@prettypurpleprincesspublicprincesstimeline yeah. I usually steer clear of the who mess all together. People have different beliefs than I do and I can respect them for that. It makes the world a more fun place to livv

@southpaw do you feel beliefs inform your actions
