      1. @treblecanter In Dungeons and Dragons you get a critical hit when you roll a 20 with a d20. You deal maximum damage. When you roll a 1 with a d20 you get a critical miss and your turn is immediately over. (a d20 is a dice with 20 sides ;) )

        1. @broniebrown Critical misses tend to vary wildly in their existence and effects though.

          1. @cracky I tend to roll them petty damn often. Today I rolled 3 times a 1 in a row :-/ We have a little house rule that we grant combat advantage (+2 on attack rolls for enemies against you) when we roll a critical miss (immediate saving throw to prevent this)
