  1. Time to see if Battlefield 3 runs fine on my computer.

    1. @flamingpandaomg Sorry you're putting yourself through that.

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:19:06 UTC from web
      1. @anarchycarcino Yeah it's not great.

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:23:11 UTC from web
        1. @flamingpandaomg Hated 3.

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:24:32 UTC from web
          1. @anarchycarcino The game itself is fun, but PC is so convoluted the way it works, and I was having random lag spikes on minimum graphics, so that's not fun either.

          2. @anarchycarcino @critialcloudkicker The reason I ask is because I was wondering if you could describe the strengths/weaknesses of the Chaos, Eldar, Ork and Marine races. I know I played a lot of Night Elf / Undead in Warcraft 3 and I was trying to find the equivalent in DoW.

            1. @flamingpandaomg Weakness of Chaos: Disgusting Heretics, susceptible to fire. Weakness of the Ork: Disgusting Xenos, can't aim. Susceptible to fire. Weakness of Eldar: Disgusting Xenos. Susceptible to fire. Weakness of Marines: NO KNOWN WEAKNESS.

            2. @flamingpandaomg Lets see... The strength of the Necrons is HEAVY ARMOR ! , the weakness is that they are slow as snails. The strength of the Imperial Guard is that they are cheap, the weakness is that they NEED to rely on blitz tactics and a LOT of "HOLD THE LINE DAMMIT!" tactics to secure victory. Hmm... *sees you only asked about the base game* ... Wait let me start over

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:30:58 UTC from web
              1. @critialcloudkicker Yeah, that'd be great. I can say the Night Elves relied a lot on ranged combat and spellcasters since their melee was sub-par, and the undead were a little sub-par in most ways except their AA and they were able to raise skeletons from corpses to supplement their armies and overwhelm. I dunno if DoW has something close to an equivalent.

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:33:23 UTC from web
                1. @flamingpandaomg Sounds like the Tao. They prefer to use firepower over anything else. Usual tactics are to get a stealthsuit up close to relay the coordinates of your enemy, and let Fire Warriors and Broadside Battlesuits rip the enemies to shreds. If there are no stealthsuits you can rely on the Pathfinder... And when Melee is inevitable the Tao Empire has befriended the Krootox race

                  1. @critialcloudkicker Just remember I can only pick from the base game races lmao

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:39:42 UTC from web
                    1. @flamingpandaomg Hmm, well if you like to pick them afar from a range, do not pick Orks, One of their biggest strengths lies in smashing things to bits up close and personal. ... I do not know how the Eldar worked precicely on the count of that I do not like space-elves with a superiority complex. You can easily make a ranged Space Marine army ( Using heavy bolters on the tactical marines, and sniper rifles on the scouts ) ... As for Chaos... Well I am sure they have something compareable.

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:42:49 UTC from web
                      1. @critialcloudkicker I'll just have to try them both in a custom game or something xD

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:43:47 UTC from web
                        1. @flamingpandaomg Try Space Marines first... They are the most well rounded for first-timers ( Since everything kinda makes sense ) As opposed to Orks, where it does not make much sense sometimes ( Need a big pile of guns for choppa ( axes ) upgrades ? )

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:45:44 UTC from web
                          1. @critialcloudkicker Isn't the Pile o Gunz basically the upgrade building though?

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:46:45 UTC from web
                            1. @flamingpandaomg Since most upgrades come from that building, I guess you can say that :)

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:48:14 UTC from web
                              1. @critialcloudkicker Yeah the names don't throw me off or anything. I just don't think I'd like Orks all that much because I don't like melee-heavy races if I have a choice.

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:49:07 UTC from web
                                1. @flamingpandaomg I still like and prefer to send a couple of slugga boys up to the front engaging in melee combat ( stopping my enemy from using their guns effectively, This works really well against Space Marines ) While some of my shoota boys do some shoota diplomacy

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:52:24 UTC from web
            3. @flamingpandaomg Eldar like running, A LOT, they strive with flanking tactics and can teleport around the map, they do not have a lot of armour, even the tanks, They have more nasty spells than the other races. Orks are the strongest meanest and baddest race around, meaning they have they have the biggest brute force ( the strongest Space Marine would lose to the weakest Ork when it comes to arm wrestling ), Orks also rely on a special resource called the WAARGH ! you need more towers to get more WAARGH !

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:33:46 UTC from web
              1. @critialcloudkicker Stop glorifying your disgusting Xeno race.

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:34:54 UTC from web
            4. @flamingpandaomg Chaos and Space Marines are pretty darn compareable, biggest diffrences are that cultists can run faster but have less armor, and space marine scouts are low in number but have a lot of special weapon upgrades. And the attack specialist ( Terminators vs Khorne berserkers ) have noteicable diffrent atack and defensive stats, and speed.

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:36:03 UTC from web
              1. @critialcloudkicker So I guess Eldar would be the closest to Night Elves in respect of strongest spells, and which race usually has the most in terms of number of troops?

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:37:18 UTC from web
                1. @flamingpandaomg The Zerg.

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:37:46 UTC from web
                  1. @foxgopher Well I was meaning in DoW, but I know Zerg always had the number advantage in Starcraft.

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:38:50 UTC from web
                    1. @flamingpandaomg Oh I know what you meant.

                2. @flamingpandaomg Guard.

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:38:06 UTC from web
                3. @flamingpandaomg That would depend if you are measuring troop size or troop number ( And would be the Orks or Imperial Guard, in that order ) ... Or the Tryanids, but they are not in the game

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:39:36 UTC from web
                  1. @critialcloudkicker All I can say is the Undead tended to have sub-par troops and they ended up needing their artillery (called Meat Wagons) that carried corpses that allowed your Necromancers to quickly create a huge group of skeletons to make up for them.

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:40:57 UTC from web
                    1. @flamingpandaomg Frost Wyrms, you uncultured swine!

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:42:04 UTC from web
                      1. @anarchycarcino @foxgopher I don't count Frost Wyrms because they were hella cheap if you got that far into a game. Frost Breath makes all buildings useless.

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:43:18 UTC from web
                        1. @flamingpandaomg If you were good you didn't need to get that far into the game.

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:43:55 UTC from web
                    2. @flamingpandaomg Dude Frost Wyrms....

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:42:12 UTC from web
                      1. @foxgopher @anarchycarcino Aside from Frost Wyrms, all of the other Undead troops were mediocre at best. The aboms were good I suppose but I didn't like having that much resources invested in one unit if possible.

Saturday, 24-Aug-13 17:45:05 UTC from web
