@vt3c yay
-
@vt3c If I catch you using a <font> or <center> I will skin you alive
-
@redenchilada I never understood why coders take issue to things that work.
-
@weedlordhitler It's archaic and likely to be phased out in future browsers. (Plus it binds the design to the markup, which is a cardinal sin of web design)
-
@redenchilada That's what I don't like about code. Everyone is always thinking about the future.
-
@weedlordhitler You've gotta keep the future in mind to be successful in anything involving coding. And the past. And the browsers that don't follow standards *cough IE cough*.
-
@redenchilada @weedlordhitler @vt3c I doubt <font> or even <center> will be phased out, but they don't have near the flexibility of CSS equivalents, yeah.
-
@redenchilada I've always opposed the idea of changing things that works.
-
@vt3c You should! It's pretty cool really once you get the hang of it!
-
@weedlordhitler Lemme put it this way: if StatusNet used <font> and <color> and <center> everywhere instead of CSS, it'd be impossible to move it off of its original theme or color choice. It's also important to be able to change those kinds of attributes deterministically (such as in CSS through a @media query) for things like mobile sites, where the wide designs used on desktops don't work nearly as well.
-
@vt3c I think it's a good place to start. It's nothing like other code, but it's rewarding and a fairly easy way to start out because it's much like BBcode which many use in posting such as here on RDN.
-
@pony so what are you up to lately?
-
@pony and *ting*
-
@cajunbrony23 I did errands earlier. It was nice to get things done. Since then though I've been entirely unproductive. I keep meaning to write, but you've seen how that's going xD
-
@redenchilada It makes sense when you put it that way.
-
@pony RDN can be distracting lol. DM'ed
