@yodelerty been going to sleep at 10pm and waking up at 5 so I can be at orientation on time, but my actual work schedule is second shift which runs from 2:45pm - 11:30pm, give or take, so I have to readjust my sleep schedule this weekend so that I'm up at just before noon now.

@nerthos Yeah, it's at a pork processing plant some ~38ish miles away cutting loins off of pigs. It's gross work, but I'll be making anywhere between $15.25 - $16.25 /hr depending on what part of the production line I'm on, along with great benefits, so it's worth it.

@yodelerty Oh God no I couldn't. I'd be even more tired than if I didn't sleep at all. Also that's a waste of 1/2 the day. I can't be sleepy at work due to the fact that I'm around a FrankerZ ton of machines that can easily cut my hand / fingers off if I stop paying attention.

@yodelerty it's definitely not fun and very dangerous. Also the smell of freshly killed pigs isn't great, but the money / benefits is way worth it and there's no way I'd find any job you start at that great of a rate. It's just a lot of repetitive muscle movements I'm not used to, so I'll be very VERY sore for a good couple weeks at the least.

@yodelerty The only people who aren't muscular there are the older people since I guess they can't develop muscles or something? There's a bunch of buff dudes who work on the killing floor who lift the pigs onto the metal hooks.

@yodelerty I won't really be, since the most I'll be lifting is like a 10 lb slab of meat and cutting, but I'll probably be a bit more resistant to getting exhausted since it's a lot of physical effort.

@mushi They're the best. There was a sale in the supermarket near my house, a pack with six for ar$6, which is pretty cheap since a regular sized one is like ar$5, so I bought 6.

@yodelerty Also smells won't really bother me after a while since the smell of blood / guts is really rampant there and I've yet to smell anything that's worse.
