So, i've been working on music...

@techdisk oh papaya this is ridiculous.......
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 16:53:28 UTC from web-
@ryanjjjj I just tried to watch that Spider-Man ep you linked last night (saw it on your profile)...What a load of crap that show is. It's insufferable. I can't even sit through more than 10 minutes of it. It just grates on my nerves.
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 16:55:26 UTC from web-
@clayinthecarpet XD its so painful that it loops right around and becomes amazing XD the bad VA, animation, scripting ALL of it
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:02:11 UTC from web-
@ryanjjjj I love how Peter is interested in nothing more than scoring with the obviously slutty chick in class. A whole generation grew up watching that technicolor crap...I couldn't imagine the pain they experienced.
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:03:09 UTC from web-
@clayinthecarpet They'll probably be saying the same about us one day...
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:03:56 UTC from web-
@dropsterdash Yeah but stuff now is a whole lot different from what it was back then. Plus, our cartoons are made way better nowadays with infinitely better VAs and plots. Just try watching that ep of Spider-Man. Just try! You'll see what I mean.
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:05:27 UTC from web-
@clayinthecarpet I did try. I watched the first three minutes of it. Then my ADD kicked in and I went back to working on my poem.
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:06:50 UTC from web-
@dropsterdash hahaha...Yeah, stuff made back then had a much slower pace than cartoons today.
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:07:13 UTC from web-
@clayinthecarpet Yep. I wonder if that is because the world was slower-paced in general back then. They are calling our generation the microwave generation for a reason.
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:08:55 UTC from web-
@dropsterdash Everything was slower pace back then. Hell, you still had party lines on phones...and every phone was a rotary! To say nothing of communications as a general subject. Letters were pretty much the only way other than pay phone and home phone to contact people. Yeah, everything was much, much slower...Even news broadcasts.
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:33:27 UTC from web -
@dropsterdash Because the microwave is a suitable replacement as a means of cooking a lot of food, and who the hell would wait 20 minutes for something when it can come out of the microwave in 2 and be the same quality.
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:34:52 UTC from web-
@flamingpandaomg "same quality" isn't exactly correct in the way you've used it here...There are a lot of reasons why some stuff that is microwaved may not be the same quality as stuff boiled/baked/cooked, etc.
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:36:28 UTC from web-
@clayinthecarpet thus why I said "a lot of food" and not "all food". There are a lot of things I would not microwave, but there's a Potato Knish ton that I would.
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:37:18 UTC from web-
@flamingpandaomg Ah. Yeah. True. @dropsterdash, exactly. I didn't have a computer until I turned 14, thankfully...That allowed me to be alone, in my own mind, and become an artist by ...really having nothing better to pass my time with, except 8-bit video games. :3
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:39:10 UTC from web-
@clayinthecarpet Hah! Well, I am an artist. I simply use a laptop as my brush... And the internet (and, by extension, world) as my canvas.
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:42:39 UTC from web-
@dropsterdash Good to hear!!

@flamingpandaomg What I mean is, this generation is used to not having to wait nearly as long. This has caused many to become impatient in general. Hence we have much faster-paced forms of entertainment.
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:37:11 UTC from web-
@dropsterdash The only thing I can say is "Tribes: Ascend" or whatever that game's called.
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:37:52 UTC from web-
@flamingpandaomg Gawd, I still love that thing ! :D ... Sadly the only really stable has a 1 credit orbital drop ( so it gets dropped more often than the gay word on youtube ). I can't wait till Tribes:Ascend 2 though. Oh and I am pretty sure that that game is not a title with any sort of "instant gratification" since the learning curve is rather steep.
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:43:09 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker Server... the only really stable server...
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:44:38 UTC from web -
@critialcloudkicker The phrase was "fast-paced entertainment", which is literally the definition of Tribes: Ascend.
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:46:20 UTC from web-
@flamingpandaomg I think you are confusing "fast-paced entertainment" with "near-instant gratification".
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:48:30 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker http://rainbowdash.net/notice/3103646 please note the words faster-paced forms of entertainment.
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:50:38 UTC from web-
@flamingpandaomg And that holds up to "who the hell would wait 20 minutes for something when it can come out of the microwave in 2 and be the same quality." ... How exactly ?
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:52:36 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker I'm saying that I took what he said word for word. He never said instant gratification, he said faster-paced entertainment, which Tribes: Ascend is. If you don't like it, bring it up with him for not using the correcting phrase.
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:54:14 UTC from web-
@flamingpandaomg "correct wording"
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 17:55:46 UTC from web -
@flamingpandaomg Allow me to just dive right to the part where I think is the problem. I think quite simply put that all the people in the world have gotten so used to get what they want when they want, need, or desire it. And this came at the cost of admiration for when you do have these things. Why would you thank your lover when she made the dish you [i]really[i] love when Domino's Pizza can deliver it in 30 minutes or less and, apart from the love, tastes the same. The same is true for information and other forms of media. However, when someone is picking up a game in search of a fast paced game in search of instant gratification I reckon they pick up a game like Battlefield or Call of Duty before a game like Tribes:Ascend or Unreal Tournament 3. Why ? I think it is because for most people the learning curve to be actual successful in anything but simple Deathmatches is too steep.
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 18:00:34 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker I've yet to get satisfaction from Call of Duty in general, but that's just me probably.
Wednesday, 06-Nov-13 18:08:14 UTC from web-
@flamingpandaomg General populus... We are not part of those I'm afraid. And that is a good thing :)
