@pony heaven, wings and such are a little more poetic for mundane folks like humans. It just seems redundant for a pony society who do not have the same sense of wonder about the sky that we do, since they pretty much have 24/7 access to it without expensive technology or civilian control

@rarity For them (and all the ponies for that matter) it would have to mean something more than just clouds. I simply imagine their heaven like the one I've learned about, of which there are very few actual physical descriptions and more mental, emotional, and spiritual descriptions.

@pony but unicorns can just use magic to be up there anyway, and beyond that theyre the most educated of the three races from what we can tell. Only Earth ponies who never have dealings with the other two races might be completely ignorant on what the sky yields, I guess

@pony what exactly is the basic though? In a society where magic is real and anything can become reality, heaven seems antiquated. Or at least reduced to a santa clause bribe

@prettypurpleprincesspublicprincesstimeline If you equate heaven to magical sky-dwelling, then I guess so. I see wings as a symbol of freedom and power, not simply tools for flying. Clouds are a symbol of peace I suppose. Even though Equestrians have relative freedom, power, and peace, it's not absolute by any means. Tartarus and a world full of villains threatens their peace and freedom not too dissimilarly to our world. The symbols of wings and clouds can be understood easily by anypony, even if they don't hold the same weight for those who experience them daily.

@flamingpandaomg I dunno, just seems like a pegasus would grow up with a different idea in mind for heaven, than just being in the same place they already were. At the very least, if they grew up believing in some culturally-discussed heaven, it's safe to say that heaven would be characterized as different enough so as to appear special to get ponies to actually be interested in believing it
