@zennx Puella Magi Madoka Magica was a good show from earlier this year. That's worth giving a go. The first season of Darker than Black was good. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex is fantastically overrated, but still good if you look past that.

@ceruleanspark so are you it seems, allow me to recomend some to you: If you are looking for a fast lough try: Bokusatsu Tenchi Dokuro-chan, and Dai Mahou Touge; if you are looking for a more story filled genre I recomend Toradora! the To Aru Series, and Chobits
