@cutesaurus I myself am fond of the G1's Pony Friends, Especially Creamsicle, a few of the ponies I like as well (which I also, personally own), like Steamer and Snuzzle (one of the ORIGINAL 'Mane 6'). It's fun to read and look at all the old ponies-- but I really can't make myself look at G2-3.5, too painful.

@cutesaurus I think so. For the longest time I thought Zecora didn't have a cutie-mark and that the thing on her flank was some kind of scarification tattoo. But that seems to be against the accepted canon. The Buffalo obviously didn't have any, nor Gilda, and a cutie-mark seems to represent adulthood, civilization and a defining talent and some tie to magic. I'd say if your Hinny can't do anything magical at all, not having a cutie-mark would be justified.

@cutesaurus I think the most amusing bit of that is that Fluttershy lives on the ground and cares for animals, and Pinkie Pie can defy gravity and get anywhere pretty much instantly. It's like they switched which one had wings but didn't write the scripts to match. (I wonder if they'll touch on that in season 2 at all.)

@cutesaurus Not sure, it was a design decision, because Lauren Faust's original concept art for Pinkie Pie did have wings, so they were removed later. I expect they wanted to balance the number of types.
