        • !yorkshirebronies @pominator No problem at all! She has my congratulations! Also, @crimson Oh man, that's sad. :( I know another guy from Harrogate who I'm quite sure is coming. When he comes online I'll find out how he is travelling. There is a slim, non guaranteed chance of him using a car. How much does it cost to get a train from Harrogate to Leeds by the way? I imagine it will be about £5 for a return, judging by the distance. It's a very similar journey to my own. As for spending at the meetup itself, lunch can be as low as 80p if you want, and the only other costs I can think of are if you wish to buy a blindbag or two. You may well be able to scrape through the day with under £10. :D

              • !yorkshirebronies So I called in to Forbidden Planet today, rifled through the ponies, told some guys in the store "don't judge me, bro!" and informed the woman at the till about the meetup. Well, I would have informed her if someone hadn't called on the phone and beat me to it! So anyway, I get home, and my mum decides to tell me that she called Forbidden Planet to ask about ponies. My jaw hit the floor. She's spying on me! She's reading this right now! Hello Mother dearest, happy birthday tomorrow!

                • !yorkshirebronies @elscire Yeah, pub is only really any use to anyone who is able to stay that late (i.e. not many people). Pominator says if anyone from further afield did want to stay late at the pub, then they can crash at his place for the night, and travel home the next day. But, officially we'll be finishing about half five or whatever, so no fret if it's too late. @yorkiebrony Basically, purplephish was suggesting that the next meetup could be in Sheffield, and also had the idea to try and make it a larger thing with more attendees. If this is the case, it would be good if anyone from Sheffield with contacts in the Uni could get a large room with a projector for the meetup. I just mentioned a few people who I could remember living in Sheffield. Anyway, hopefully this plan may just happen. A big meetup in Sheffield would be awesome! Also, have fun at the Cello Day!

                  • !yorkshirebronies @Klayking the only thing which concerns me about this meet is that in his post on UKofE regarding the subject of the room at Strawbs, @pominator said they were open from 7 *PM* - which is entirely no good for a day meet unless we have a special arrangement outside of the usual hours. I emailed him about it several days ago to no response.

                    • !yorkshirebronies @klayking Sorry, but I cannot make it the 31st of March. One of my orchestra members moved heaven and earth to get me a discount on participating in a Cello Day here in Sheffield. Hopefully Octavia will give a workshop too. Anyway, have fun in Leeds :-)

                        • !yorkshirebronies It's a little funny that I made a comment about getting Greggs last meetup, and this time it's being suggested in al seriousness. But then I suppose if there are so many in Leeds it would make sense. @zeifarrei are you confirming your attendance or that you would like to take part in something? I believe @klayking is taking the confirmations via e-mail. The last train back for me doesn't leave until almost 9pm, so I can hang around for a good while after the 'official' finishing time.

                          • !yorkshirebronies @klayking alrighty, I'll start thinking up stuff for a quiz, if anyone wants to help let me know, it does mean you won't be able to take part though. I'll see if I can find some appropriate pony merch to give out as prizes, I'll be making a run to morrisons and asda at some point in the near future to buy up a load of blindbags. I don't suppose I'll be able to get an accurate idea of how many are going to be attending just yet will I?

Thursday, 15-Mar-12 21:31:05 UTC in context
                        • !yorkshirebronies @trister Yeah, we had a quiz in Sheffield. That was fun. What would we do about prizes? I'm also curious about this gift game. Also, regarding blind bags, I found Lyra in the Forbidden Planet store, but if you come across # and / or # on your ponyhunt, I got dibs on them! :D Also, if anyone here can play a musical instrument, then let me tell you that there is nothing more awesome than a bunch of bronies singing pony songs in the street! Hamish and his ukelele was the highlight of the Liverpool meet!

                          • !yorkshirebronies okay so i find that a Bus ticket would cost only £4.60 compared to the £7.60 the train would... i have no idea where leeds bus station is in comparison the the train station though... any help? cannae find it on the map

                            • !yorkshirebronies @pominator from Leeds Met Uni says he can accomodate a few people overnight if they wish to stay in Leeds late, and set off for home the next day. It may be a bit cramped but if you'd like to do that then I guess you could bring a sleeping bag along with you. He'll need to know how many people would want to do that, as space will be limited.
