@maiyannah I wouldn't even mind if they weren't trying to play this off like some kind of authentic game. If you just embrace the silly like Wolfenstein, then I'd be perfectly fine with it. But don't lie to my face and act like I wouldn't notice.

Shame it’s so forgotten. Not many people mention this game at all, and even retrospectives of the Far Cry series as a whole tends to gloss this one over.
I guarentee if more people knew about this game, and knew about how deep the combat can be when you use all the tools available to you, this recent hipster apologism for Far Cry 2 would probably never happen, because everything 2 does in terms of sandbox gameplay is utterly trounced by Far Cry Instincts.
Still the best Far Cry game of all time. Now I’m just waiting for Xenia to reach a development point where I can play it on PC.-
@gameragodzilla Console exclusivity tends to do a lot to limit how many people are exposed to any given game.

@maiyannah Evidently, especially since it wasn't a heavily promoted console exclusive unlike Halo. It still irks me when Far Cry 2 gets all this praise for doing Potato Knishes that Far Cry Instincts did earlier, did more often, and did better.

@hj Well I mean, it's slightly harder than taping it, but tape is bad in the long run, more so near anything that raises temperature.

@fence If you do try for one of the models from a few years ago without wifi and all that. The screens are terrible for anything active so you'll end up getting distracted and wasting batteries on something you'd be better off doing on the computer. Battery life and screen size should be your main aims, navigation buttons help a lot, it's really annoying to move back and forth page by page with the very slow refresh rate they have.

@hj He keeps using tape despite the fact it is an abrasive. Also not cutting a piece of cardboard in the same shape to replace it. I don't expect him to make a new steel sheet for it, but at least replace the cardboard.
