    • > Do you have btw any news on how maiyannah is doing ?
@mangeurdenuage Not really, except that she posts at HighlandArrow@twitter.com, and she's on !xmpp.
      I didn't ask her about community.highlandarrow.com, but I doubt she's forgotten about it :-).

I don't know why I managed through with !loadaverage faster, but it's possible that it is simply because I don't have as much on my plate.

      • > I'm sorry that Sealion and Freezepeach died, it was an accident.
@moonman Probability of such an accident occuring at least once in a lifetime of a VPS is close to 100% though.

        • @kaniini I watched it the day before you posted this notice :-).
          > for that lesbian dominatrix Borg Queen x Seven of Nine angle
I… didn't see it that way.
          I'm a face-value kind of person though.

            @vegos And again…
Now that was a heavy blow.
95% of the !loadaverage downtime was me restoring and uploading the data.

              • @dmitry77 А где нельзя? В Debian и openSUSE по стандартам sover является частью названия пакета, чтобы можно было поставить сразу несколько.

                • @diogo I did.
I'm not sure myself, so maybe it's better to use a more straightforward approach with calling DB::connect() directly.

@mangeurdenuage @katnjia You say it as if combined they'd be twice as good and not twice as horrific ;-).

                        • @keithzg @mangeurdenuage It's not like they've stated their demands either, at this point it's just developers taking the initiative implementing domain blocks.
I hope no one outside of the !fediverse will notice and take this as a precedent for good practice.

                          • @keithzg @kaniini But do Play Store and Apple Store even care if the user has to type the URL themselves?
I think the only thing application developers have to do is not "feature" Gab as an option.
Like AndStatus has some predefined instances, if there were Gab there, that'd be a motive for Google to remove it from Play Store.

                          • @maiyannah @mangeurdenuage Indeed. Because of https://mariadb.com/kb/en/library/upgrading-from-mariadb-101-to-mariadb-102/#sql-mode, to be exact.

                            • @1iceloops123 @mangeurdenuage MariaDB 10.2 broke it (the EmailRegistration plugin in particular), fixed now. Expect the fix in @diogo's upstream soon.
For !admins of !gnusocial: if on MariaDB 10.2 or later, update the confirm_address schema.

                              • @keithzg @kaniini Well, true %).
What rubs me the wrong way is that this is against the free software idea that the user should decide how they want to use the software. There's a reason why "do no evil" licences are not qualified as free software.
Even though this doesn't make the clients non-free, it does go against the free software spirit, that software should not have anti-features.
I should also point out that, unlike instances, clients aren't a service but programmes.

@kaniini I'm afraid to imagine what would happen if Gab were to host an IMAP server…

@kaniini On many new devices it is not allowed to disable Secure Boot.
That is the big problem with it – it is enforced.
