I feel like I've already posted this before, but inhap you were wondering...
Beowulf's name may be broken into beo(bee) and wulf(wolf). Beewolf is a kenning for bear(bears stalk bees(akin to the common Slavic name word medved(honey eater))). He is King Bear. If one is going to extrapolate things where they don't exist, one could say he was named as such as bear sinew was brooked to make the chains that hold Fenrir or that Beowulf was a bearshirt(berserker). -
