!vancouverbronies @echron1000 did the blogspot site and we basically abandoned it after we settled that Saturday was the meetup day from then onwards. http://vancouverbronies.blogspot.ca/ We still need a forum. Anyone know how to run a SMF Forum? The code for it is supposedly free, you just need to run it on a server.

@seanprice !vancouverbronies I guess it's not being updated. Honestly, a forum (that we own) works better for actual meetup stuff/planning. I know for a fact the local fur community has their own forum where they plan tons of stuff not usually publicly known.

!vancouverbronies Vancouver PINKIE/RARITYQUEST at Cos & Effect from August 24-26th it is! The Plan: To do exactly (and maybe more of) what PINKIEQUEST in Seattle did for PAX a while back, except here in Vancouver. We will need 2 giant printed out versions of Pinkie Pie and Filly Rarity with her horn dragging her to her destiny and we will do this for a whole day on the UBC grounds at Cos & Effect this year. !vancouverbronies Dead in the water again... 2nd time I've tried to organize it and it falls flat. If the two major organizers of the group disagree, there's no way we can get enough participation. I blame both the British tourism bureau and that live lipdub for me getting trying to get this back up and running. Heck, they had a IRL PINKIEQUEST in Seattle a while back.

@jackzhang !bcbronies Yeah, I was at that. It was at the same time as a major convention and was a pretty awesome time. I'm not saying it's a bad idea, I'm just saying I wouldn't be involved. Likewise I think the PNE Suits idea is stupid and I don't like paintball because it's too expensive. Doesn't mean I'm vehemently against them being done, I'm just saying to be careful about planning and that I probably won't be involved. Sorry I keep crapping on your plans. You've gotta explain what you mean by "flash mob" in more depth, though, since I think the term covers a fairly broad spectrum. Pinkiequest worked because it was done over a wide area, but each location just got it for a very short period. Most importantly, though, it was done under the banner of one of Seattle's biggest conventions, so instead of "Those obnoxious bronies", we would've been labelled "Those obnoxious geeks".

!vancouverbronies @jackzhang ya even if this idea takes off you can count me out, to me themed flash mobs like this are the epitome of obnoxious and i could never see myself being a part of one, not sure what everybody else's opinions on the matter are, so best of luck getting the numbers for this one dude

@bronymike !vancouverbronies So, I guess Cos & Effect would be a better place to do a Vancouver PINKIEQUEST or something similar. The PNE doesn't have as much walking room as UBC does, and it's the association thing.

!bcbronies When I was in high school I was the biiiiiiiggest hipster, all the time doing stuff "because it's cool" or "to confuse people", which is all fine and dandy, I just don't want the fandom's image becoming somehow endangered as a result. Point is, do what you want, just be careful. Also, I monologue too damn much on RDN, huh?

!bcbronies : I am with @bronymike on this one, Flash Mobbing is the farthest from keeping the peace. I don't mind having us being seen but that is quite different from forcing our hobby onto to people with a flash mob.
