My heart hangs heavy, my head hangs low. I look away now, for tears do flow. The night is rough, and I do trudge on; but it is none the easier now that you are gone. The seconds pass by, one by one, and bleed into minutes, to hours, to days. I walk on, though each step brings pain. And every waking moment brings my thoughts to you again. And when I go to bed to rest, I cannot, dare not, for I'd revisit us again. So I lie awake staring, wishing it'd all just end. But no, my task is not done, my purpose incomplete. Onward, I go, onward, regardless of my battered feet. The thorns may prick my flesh, the shadows tug at my mind; there is nary a soul in this place who will stop me in my search until you, again, I find.
