@polarbear The people making that claim conveniently "forget" that Mitt Romney signed a semi-automatic weapons ban bill into effect while he was governor of Massachusetts. George Bush, Sr. played a major role in that "sporting purposes" nonsense, and Ronald Reagan closed the NFA registry on selective fire and full-auto firearms. Neither of the two Wall Street parties are to be trusted.

Interestingly, my Ruger Mk. III .22LR pistol proved to be incredibly accurate at 100 yards from a rested position; I could manage to hit a clay pigeon every now and then (even when I missed, I wasn't hitting too far from the target). :)

It's been awhile since I fired my Ruger 10/22. I would like to try the M14 at longer distances, but I need to reload more ammunition for it (it will take some time to process the spent brass for reloading).

@polarbear Fortunately, I still have some of my .22LR ammunition stash left (perhaps a couple thousand rounds). It's irritating that .22LR is a bit difficult to find at times thanks to the artificial panic induced by the NRA in 2013 to maximize the profits of domestic manufacturers of firearms and ammunition.

I am going to need some new platinum (or is iridium?) tipped spark plugs in around 6000 miles or so. I should probably invest in some basic car maintenance tools now that I have time to start doing my own work again.
