Sea Hitler's water apocalypse
For the cat is cryptic, and close to strange things which men cannot see. He is the soul of antique Aegyptus, and bearer of tales from forgotten cities in Meroe and Ophir. He is the kin of the jungle’s lords, and heir to the secrets of hoary and sinister Africa. The Sphinx is his cousin, and he speaks her language; but he is more ancient than the Sphinx, and remembers that which she hath forgotten.

@maiyannah "Put some radio towers in there"
"But mr. smithberg this is a scuba diving sim"
"It's my money and I want to see big, long, thick dangling radio towers in the game, so put the damn radio towers in there or I'm hiring someone who will" -
@maiyannah Oh, yeah, I meant specifying what they're going to do, creator freedom as in not having ridiculous CEO decisions killing the game like what happened to Ultima IX. Sometimes doing without a publisher to fund you lets you off of crap like microtransactions, on-disk dlc and investors guiding the writing and features. If your publisher likes pink dolphins you have to put pink dolphins into the game even if it's a sahara survival simulator.
-
@maiyannah Ideally crowfunding should be for above average features or creator free reign projects, not for anything and everything.
-
@maiyannah They deserve it for being shady as hell.
-
@dolus I've never put a dime in any lol. I considered it for the hometuck one but I'm glad I didn't as it was an absolute disaster that didn't deliver and also killed the webcomic.
-
@maiyannah It's a problem in both sides: companies abuse that good will and trust, and customers give that for way too long. If a game is crap after five were good, yes, buy the next one hoping it was just a slip up. If that second game is bad too, more so if it's bad along the same line, don't buy a third and specially not on launch day, instead give it a few weeks until the hype cools down and you have unpaid reviews up for it and can know what you're dealing with. That both keeps your money safe and forces companies to deliver good stuff since a stall of two weeks on the sales boom of a game is an absolute monetary catastrophe.
-
@dolus At this point you just can't trust crowfunding a project by anyone you don't already know to have a great, long track record. And those people generally don't use crowdunfing anyway.
-
@maiyannah It only stops pirates from cracking games not enough people care about like total war warhammer.
-
@maiyannah I completely agree. They're too far gone to grasp that, and they either think that players are idiots or that they love the brand, not the content. Or both. When the reason they got so popular in the first place is that 20-10 years ago they delivered good games.
-
@dolus Rip whatever game that was. The only thing these DRM succeed in is making the pirated version more appealing than the bought one.
-
@maiyannah But nope, let's leave Diablo to rust away while being the only franchise that both isn't completely eroded and hasn't had a recent release.
-
@maiyannah Oh, yeah, the priests of Rathma. Without Trag'Oul and with Rathma himself not being hinted at any kind of activity, the status of the order is up in the air. A lot of things hint at it being the only somewhat working "guardians" of the place still up, but how much they've gone off the rails is not known. I assume at this point they're mostly led by the D2 necromancer.
-
@maiyannah Yep. There's still most of Westmarch unexplored as well as much of the east, and they could make a main questline based on recovering travincal and fixing the zakarum that a lot of reaper of souls spoke about. As well as the whole recovering leah's soul thing that the main character would talk about all through act 5.
-
Pretty sure I'm going to have piles of "discrimination" complaints for not going easy on idiots just for being idiots. If I could go through school without putting any effort into it and still have good grades, anyone who should be in it can do it with a bit of dedication too.

Signing up for classes to get certified as a professor. Good hours, long vacations, and I get to do work that is not taxing in the least to me. Pretty sure students will hate me for being one of the few to give actual content though.

@maiyannah Pretty much but they're too busy releasing crappy expansions for wow instead, even though D3 still has some breath left in it if they gave it more actual content.
-
@archaeme Good night!
-
@moonman Yes, but it's a smart move for USA's interests, despite their hand in causing the problem. A reason I don't like countries is that generally what's best for a country conflicts with what's best for justice.
-
@moonman That was one of the smartest moves in recent years really.
-
@somercet What I was going for is that for the last few decades USA's wars have been fought with monetary interests in mind, though not necessarily for the country itself. Occupations have also been too long and causes of the war really iffy, so in the end they lose more than what they win. WWII was the last war USA could justify without argument, and maybe the cold war but that never escalated to an open conflict. To win a war you need to 1) be able to justify it politically and 2) win considerably more than what you lose, whether it's in resources, power, territory or foreign threat. USA has consistently failed to meet those two conditions lately.
-
@moonman The thing is that even if winning militarily, the USA at this point has ran it's reputation to the ground so much that they can't politically win a war that's not outright defensive, and they won't get into a defensive war because no country will try to invade them in the near future.
-
@somercet Ok, yeah, you really didn't understand what I said and took me for a leftie, which I'm not.
-
@somercet I'm not sure how the left has anything at all to do with me.
-
The sorcerer was an exotic arab dancer and the amazon was archer barbie but the assassin was perfect.

@somercet You used to be good at winning wars in the early XX century, then it became more of a "how can we profit from deploying soldiers" thing and it went horribly wrong.
-
@cyberpotato No. Though I wouldn't discard her owning all sorts of weird gadgets.
-
@maiyannah My mana basically couldn't be exhausted so that sealed the deal
-
@maiyannah I don't want the idea of the cute assassin being a transvestite anywhere near my head.
-
@maiyannah I only started using the golem quite later in the game. I'd mostly resurrect and bone spear until I started needing the blood golem's healing.
