@roka Yeah, one of my neighbours also kept chickens, ducks and a few turkeys now and then until the early 10s, though they could since the house next to theirs (belongs to my family but we don't live there) was vacant. They stopped a few years ago likely because the husband in that family started having too many health problems to properly take care of animals.
As a kid I'd look at the roosters and sometimes play with them through the fence. -
@astheroth @nepFluffle Puff @roka TBH I'm basically a fence engineer. I keep coming up with upgrades for my perimeter fences because for some reason it fills me with joy to fortify things.

I remember my city's most renowned veterinarian (he died of old age some years ago, but was active when the city was still not ultra big) loved hens and kept a coop on his yard. One of his neighbours kept being a banana about it and called the municipality to send an inspection because of "filth and bad smell", inspector showed up, and told him to shut up because the whole thing was pristine and he wished he had such clean neighbours.

I'll stick to cats though. Few animals are cute enough that I wouldn't grill them. -
Seriously, a small store that sells vegetables and fruits to about two blocks of customers throws away about half of one of those blue plastic barrels of stuff that while too squished or slightly moldy for human consumption, is perfectly good for feeding farm animals. Not sure about other places but most stores here would gladly accept a neighbour taking the barrel with them each night to feed their animals and returning it empty the next morning.

@roka @nepcherry @astheroth Depending on area a pig or two are also a good idea since it can be super easy to feed them.
If my neighbourhood wasn't too urban for it I'd just ask the guy that runs the vegetable store down the block to hand me over all the stained/squished/ugly vegetables that get thrown out each day and that'd be enough to feed 3-4 pigs. -
@nolan Maybe if Mozilla didn't actively fight against its userbase people would. Mozilla loses market share because changes in the product make it extremely hard for users to be able to recommend it in good faith.

@nepbanana @astheroth Money's not that great if you can't use it to live as you please. You have to aim for either nice life on your own or filthy rich to the point you can just ignore law and pay the fines without issues.
