  1. @redenchilada Yessssssss! I had the melody of that song stuck in my head in a big bad way, I needed to listen to it. Thanks!

  2. There's a video, somewhere, of the montage where the Cutie Mark Crusaders were trying to get their cutie marks, to no avail. This particular video had all the dialogue and sound cut out, and it was just the music. Does anyone have this video in their YouTube favs, and if so, could you hook a brony up with the link?

  3. @greydragon412 It's 21 and breezy where I am, it's awesome! People around me still have their aircon on. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?!

  5. @zach121k I have the same opinion of it as I do all landscape photography, which is 'meh, not my thing'. I can't say it's bad, or if they're bad, because it's not my thing. Based on the virtue of that, of it being something I'm not into, I don't like 'em.

  6. @zach121k I can't really comment, I do portrait and concert photography, that's what I know about. To me landscape photography is just 'Yep, that's stuff that's outside'. I like camping and hiking, but I'm so not into landscape photography. If you give a camera to a professional and to someone who's never taken a picture and told them to do landscape photography, I'd have the same thing to say about both of their pictures. Which would be 'Yup. Those are trees'.

  7. @zach121k Negative scanner! A good negative scanner will set you back about $400, but you always have the option of getting prints from your negative. I could go into the details about analogue film, but I don't think anyone wants me to.

  8. @zach121k Have you considered going film? You can get sooooooooooooo much more camera for the price if you go film. A 35mm Canon EOS3 can be had for $200, a comparable DSLR is about a grand. I went film a while ago, and haven't looked back. If you shoot black and white, developing your own negatives is hecka easy.

  10. @zach121k It's tough to make it in the entertainment industry, gotta have a lot of stick-to-it-iveness, but if you have the gear and the know-how, people will seek you out. Gotta have thick skin, though. Unless you're lucky, the first few gigs are always the hardest to get. It's a rough ride, but if you're serious about it, you'll make it happen. Don't even have to be good, being good's just a bonus. There's all sorts of bad audio engineers, photographers, and cinematographers out there who are making a living at it. If you're better than them and not getting any gigs, don't stop, keep pushin'. Like I said, tough industry, thick skin, keep movin' and you'll get somewhere.

  11. @zach121k I'm slowly weening myself off of recording and into photography. I used to funnel all of my money into recording gear, now it's going to camera lenses. Fortunately my career and hobby go hand in hand. Bands need photographers, and concert photography definitely helps to get my name as an engineer out there. Do you work in video, or is it just a hobby?

  12. @zach121k I'm a professional audio engineer who wishes he were a professional photographer. I do a lot of editing. Editing is fun inasmuch as it's nice to see an end product that meets your standards of quality, other than that it's pretty mind numbing.

  13. @zach121k Whatcha editing?

  14. Every night, while I'm asleep, people keep making and posting pictures of ponies. It's my job to make sure I find and save all of these pictures.

  16. @madflavorsofluna People are shipping Dash and AJ /hard/! I found one I really like that's kind of shipping, but I tell myself AJ did it 'cause she really wanted to hang out with Dash. http://doctormowinckel.com/pictures/mlp/she_just_wanted_to_hang.jpg

  22. @doctorwhooffanatic Like a Dullahan pony on a pony?

Sunday, 26-Jun-11 05:19:50 UTC from web in context
  23. @1greg1 No! I like the hunt. I like clicking the NSFW pictures at Pony Chan and going 'Oh no! Why would Spike do that...? He likes Rarity, this doesn't even make sense!'

Sunday, 26-Jun-11 05:15:41 UTC from web in context
  24. @doctorwhooffanatic Ponies bro, they keep you up. Pictures of ponies aren't going to save themselves to your hard drive, nor are they doing to draw themselves. They're kind of rude like that.

  25. @1greg1 Pictures of ponies would be keeping you awake anyway.

  26. @nightwillow I am in concurrence with this. I rather enjoy storms, rain, and unsavoury weather in general. Thunder and lightning sound a lot better than traffic and unruly neighbours in your apartment complex.

  27. @roykirbs I have a folder with 7,000 images on it, that's five years of work. My pony folder is a few days old and already 300 images large. Pony pictures make themselves easy to accrue.

  29. @1greg1 They are! I brought William Gibson's newest book, Zero History, and a book about mental disorders. I was also in charge of carrying the water. Lugging around fifty liters of water when you're walking 10k a day is seriously uncool. Camping is pretty awesome, though. Enjoy the fresh air and escape from all things digital.

  30. @1greg1 Last year I went camping with my ex (not my ex at the time), the only pieces of technology we brought were a satellite phone, and a hiking GPS. I brought books, about which she yelled at me for bringing.
