  2. @pony What if they're psychotic? Then it's not a question of being selfish, because following their motives they feel they're doing no wrong.

  3. @pony I was making the stand that if you see someone shoot someone else, they look like a murderer

  4. @pony What if you see someone shoot a murderer, think that person is a murderer and shoot them for being a murderer when they weren't at all

  5. @pony And you desire to kill these people, yes? To fulfill your sense of justice? So how does it make you any different?

  6. @pony If we kill all the murderers in the world there will be no people left, because by killing murders we ourselves become murderers.

  7. @pony Why does that sacrifice have to be human lives? Why do we have to bring ourselves to the level of the people we are trying to combat in order to combat them?

  10. @pony I'm speaking in terms of the figure of speech, in which case it's entirely situational. And I'm saying in the context of the gun law fighting guns with more guns isn't the way to go about it.

  11. @pony Yeah, me too, it would make ebay a whole lot easier.

  12. @pony No country's perfect. But I still think fighting fire with fire is not the way to go with the gun issue in America. Although maybe as a foreigner it's not my place to speak.

  14. @pony Meh, that might be silly and sort of recursive at this point

  15. @pony Now that your arguments been broken apart you've resorted to sarcastic commentary, nice.

  16. @pony I'm kidding there though.

  17. @pony I'm assuming you're joking now.

  18. @pony That is the most American thing I've ever heard. And you wonder why the Middle East hates you guys.

  20. @pony Am I allowed to ask whether you think "Because it is not proven it will work, it is better not to do anything instead" ?

Friday, 11-Jul-14 14:51:24 UTC from web in context
  21. @pony In your point of view, and that doesn't in any way justify gun possession anyway.

  22. @pony Did you even read the article, by the way? "The meme said "there are over 2,000 crimes recorded per 100,000 population in the U.K.," compared to "466 violent crimes per 100,000" in the United States. Our preliminary attempt to make an apples-to-apples comparison shows a much smaller difference in violent crime rates between the two countries, but criminologists say differences in how the statistics are collected make it impossible to produce a truly valid comparison. We rate the claim False."

  23. @pony A lot of things can be considered a violent crime. Me going out and punching someone can be considered a violent crime. That's not gonna kill them though.

  24. @pony Yeah except I'd rather be attacked by someone I can potentially overpower than shot from a distance.

  25. @pony The fact that you insist on needing a gun kind of shows one of the many things wrong with America.

Friday, 11-Jul-14 14:46:58 UTC from web in context
  26. @pony Do some research then. Guns are almost impossible to get over here and require serious identification and paperwork to own, criminals don't pass the checks and don't get guns.

  27. @pony That's why you have gun registration. It's better than just giving everyone a gun and saying "he shoots you you shoot back"

  28. @pony Lawbreakers in England don't have guns.

  29. @pony So you're saying the solution to guns is more guns?
