@ponybis PHP is the programming language, HTTP is the connection protocol. It is not persistent at all, every time you refresh it has to make another connection to the server, and exchange several kilobytes of stuff. Refreshing every two seconds is fairly abusive on the servers and not really useful considering the pace of conversation here is so slow anyway.

@ponybis There's a status.net plugin that does autorefresh, but admin hasn't installed that (nor do I think he plans to).

@ponybis @starshine @zarkanorf Whoa, I was mentioned in a post. #rdnrefresh should have all the information I've posted prior. The script just calls a second copy of the page basically and copies the posts over on an interval. It should work for basic purposes?

@ponybis The weird wording of it just makes me laugh, especially the uppercase BUT. Also, being RIGHT NEXT to 'close this tab' is kind of dangerous, so if you screw up you end up doing exactly the opposite of what you want.

@ponybis Ugh. I tried using that once. It's so disorganized. The "Close all BUT this tab" menu item made me wtflol.
