@randomkid They're literally trained to rip you off as hard as they can. It's not even penny pinching. They just do it to prevent giving you as much money as possible and they know people will still go with it because it's easier than putting your stuff on eBay and waiting for it to possibly sell. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you they're trained to get your stuff for the very least they can possibly cough up.
