Planning for expansion of Federati Networks (pending some changes in employment; the feast or famine nature of the present employment means either I have time or I have income, but never both).
I intend to add a #Friendica instance and a #Pleroma instance. I was also thinking of adding a #postActiv instance, but now that it is no longer used by its main dev, that seems risky.
Assuming my "learn / relearn enough #PHP / #MySQL to help improve #GNU_Social & Friendica" plan works, would patches to pA be accepted? -

A somewhat older (2016) but still interesting article about the history of #Hubzilla. Also contains a biography of Mike Macgirvin the developer that started #Friendica, Hubzilla and #Osada. It's interesting to learn that Mike launched Mistpark, the predecessor of Friendica, before #Diaspora*.

Hey there social media hosting people and developers working on any of the #Fediverse systems!
Is there anyone of you at the Chaos Communication Congress in Leipzig this year right after Christmas? Is there anyone interested to have a meeting there?
Just some exchange, we would need some people to moderate the event, but basically some meetup to exchange information and get to know other players in the field.
"Someone" could then register a "talk" or "meetup" for the upcoming congress, I'd say a duration of about 1.5 to 2 hours and maybe 60+ people can be expected, assuming there is many #webmasters or #developers among the visitors at the #35C3.
Any #devs and #webmaster of the following systems, or any that I might have missed that are using #ActivityPup and can communicate with the others, please comment here if you like the idea!

For those who've forgotten, #Friendica is a longtime part of both the #fediverse and of #Diaspora's "the federation".

@ma1uta Actually this is limitation of the "Twitter-compatible API" in #Friendica that causes such unexpected behavior. #AndStatus doesn't have separate API for Friendica and and its developer, with whom I collaborated, deliberately decided to adapt Friendica to the same client API that GNU Social uses and not to create a custom one. I hope Friendica will create #ActivityPub client-to-server protocol as GNU Social plans to do this summer...

you know, it doesn't matter if we use #pleroma or #gnusocial or #friendica or #mastodon etc. (are there more we can connect with?). the important thing is that we can communicate with each other. therefore we should rejoice over every additional server that springs into life, no matter what software it runs. whenever the media hypes something that is part of the #fediverse, it's good for all of us. but maybe we need a new name for the whole thing? I feel like "fediverse" doesn't cut it.
