RT @sazius yeah, #pubsubhubbub is working fine, it's just the old !Friendica problem of replies only going to one #SN server - pubsubhubbub can't help there
-
no SN / GS in the #you_broke_the_internet map and #friendica has still its old name only http://youbroketheinternet.org/map http://federation.skilledtests.com/List_of_Federated_Communication_Platforms.html cc @question
-
Seems a friendica dev finds it intelligent to reuse the existing SN clients for friendica. Now ask yourself: which other so-awesome system doesn't want that? cc @question

Is or will there be a discussion, analysis about the reasons those 2 friendica admins gave for closing their servers ?

"parent retrieval" of !ostatus conversations seems to work since 11 months in !friendica already, via @sazius https://github.com/friendica/friendica/commits/master/include/ostatus_conversation.php

ja, klick mal auf friendi.ca

reminds me of the disappearing of frndc.com 4 months ago: http://oracle.skilledtests.com/conversation/182264#notice-282808 !friendica

well, #diaspora had the advantage of getting mentioned, hyped in the #media, that's why they've a huge base (of inactive accounts?), the question is though... how many are still there, after the hype (and missing features). While e.g. friendica is always the underdog, when I used friendica I always wondered why media wouldn't mention it more (otoh: friendica dev/s also have a certain attitude towards marketing ;-))
-
#Diaspora vs !friendica - I don't think there are more #users on f than on d, but the #federation point is true: "it seems Friendica is more developed than Diaspora, with more connections with #other social networks and more followers." #newUserPOV http://www.marshut.com/iirxwv/diaspora-vs-friendica.html

Exactly 3 years ago I created my #identi.ca account, 10 months later I would federate with #friendica and #statusnet, at #twitter I signed up on 2009-11-29 http://skilledtests.com/wiki/Micro_blogging_posts
-
currently: the majority of the reports (1) (2) (3) as well as bug reports, e.g. (4) is only one, indicate #statusnet / #gnusocial fails with #dataportability. The only system I know supporting and working successfully is !friendica. #pump.io doesn't offer this (as well as deleting one's account). (1) http://micro.fragdev.com/notice/937339 (2) http://oracle.skilledtests.com/conversation/191711 (3) http://oracle.skilledtests.com/notice/390217 (4) http://status.net/open-source/issues/803

you should, the reason !friendica communicates now better with #statusnet is written here: http://saz.im/blog/friendica-push.html
-
did you try the export, import feature in !friendica already ? I heard it works
-
at least in !friendica that feature-request had more prio, since "wall-to-wall" replying works. I wonder if the #other distributed systems also support it already ? http://federation.skilledtests.com/List_of_Federated_Communication_Platforms.html
-
the #ideological incompatibility might be perhaps: !friendica or #dump.io or others who use so-called #privacy features "forget" that #nothing on the inet is private ?
-
you should also ask the #friendica admins who runs the fix of @sazius@social.saz.im already: "PuSH to #StatusNet/GNU Social not working reliable" https://github.com/friendica/friendica/issues/765
-
but the trick is to select the right !friendica instance - e.g. speed, plugins, ... http://dir.friendica.com/siteinfo

performance optimization for !friendica
