"Firstly, please don’t refer to GNU/kWindows as “Linux on Windows”, or any variant thereof; doing so simply propagates misinformation that not only confounds the situation, but discredits the thousands of hackers working on the GNU operating system. It would also be best if you avoid calling it “Ubuntu on Windows”; it isn’t a factually incorrect statement—you are running Ubuntu’s distribution of GNU—but it still avoids mentioning the GNU Project. If you want to give Ubuntu credit for working with Microsoft, please call it “Ubuntu GNU/kWindows” instead of “Ubuntu”. By mentioning GNU, users will ask questions about the project, and might look it up on their own. They will read about the free software philosophy, and will hopefully begin to understand these issues—issues that they might not have even been aware of to begin with." from https://mikegerwitz.com/2016/04/GNU-kWindows #Gnu/kWindows

I like the gimp reference in the directory... uninstallation is easy... i will definitely build things from source more often. I agree the dependencies is a dumb... I think for the time being; focusing on how to generate electricity and how to make #money with #FreeSoftware: http://roaming-initiative.com/mediagoblin/u/spaceman1/m/how-to-make-money-with-free-software/ if you are capable of providing services: programming, computer repair, teaching, etc ... I made a #podcast about a practical solution I am currently doing myself. it talks about advertisement, creating a customer base and more ... feel free to improve my approach. #gnu #fs #ilovefs

are there any electronics freaks out here? doing practical stuff with electricity? mechanical engineering can help you understand how to make #money with #FreeSoftware: http://roaming-initiative.com/mediagoblin/u/spaceman1/m/how-to-make-money-with-free-software/ if you are capable of providing services: programming, computer repair, teaching, etc ... I like the idea of having a directory of a problem an being able to move it here and there saving all the data in one directory. backups are easy, if you are capable of providing services: programming, computer repair, teaching, etc ... I made a #podcast about a practical solution I am currently doing myself. it talks about advertisement, creating a customer base and more ... feel free to improve my approach. #gnu #fs #ilovefs

@capngloval I'm a bit skeptical still. #Microsoft has historically done much to harm #FOSS, and #GNU + #Linux in particular. For example, requiring a distribution to sign its releases with MSFT signed key in order for (most) people to replace the OS on hardware they own.
I'm in favor of signing and hashes, but user / owner should decide whose keys to trust, not Microsoft. -
