@torana nada. es un simple mapeo de los nodos #mastodon que puede consultarse aquí: http://map.linuxinthenight.com/ se les geoposiciona por IP el server. Aunque faltan aún unos cientos de nodos, mañana con calma se podrá automatizar para que cada 24 horas se actualice.

Algunos nodos que veo en el mapa http://map.linuxinthenight.com/ #mastodon son muy sospechosos. Por ejemplo el de una isla en Africa. El nodo dice estár en Rumania. si alguien encuentra un logo de #mastodon pequenito para usar como marca de nodos en un mapa yo me comprometo a en unas horas soltar el mapa en tiempo casi real de mastodon :). allí lo dejo por si alguno/a quiere colaborar.

lo cierto es que podríamos sin mucho esfuerzo mapear todos los nodos de #mastodon en un mapita en tiempo real. Calzarle un subdominio a eso y que la gente vea los nodos en el mapa del mundo sin tanto #rankinismo . Y una segunda versión podría ser crear una cuenta que siga a todo cristo. Con el tiempo esa AI podría ir sacando posteos en tiempo real de lo que se va publicando. Es solo ponerse a primera hora de la mañana y con algo de mate en mano o agua.

@maloki Right, that thing could probably be fixed by doing a remote-fetch of parent (which I believe #Mastodon does for replies to unknown posts, right?).
I haven't checked whether the feed is fixed yet (@Gargron mentions the Suprrrfeedrrrrr "sanitation" with thr:in-reply-to)
We stitch together instances in !GNUsocial based on the conversation URI though, which is never stored or distributed from #Mastodon (which relies entirely on thr:in-reply-to)
What we have is however a bit of a mess and I don't remember which part is what we actually use and which part just comes along from #StatusNet (where none of this worked and conversations were even more broken). -
@espectalll @realramnit I haven't tried using the "Remote follow" link on a #Mastodon instance yet, no. But that's just a redirect to /main/ostatussub which works great. I just subscribed to @ekaitzzarraga for example.

Dear fellow #Mastodon users. Please be patient with the people creating Mastodon and GNU Social.
Writing software takes time, and the teams working on these applications are very small.
Most of them are also wearing many hats. Some are students, others have full time non-Mastodon jobs. Some admin instances in addtion to writing code.
The Twitter kitchen probably has more people working in it than the entire #Fediverse. Please adjust your expectations accordingly! ????
