!til how to create a list of bad blocks, and how to write all over a disk surface (usually to 'scrub' it, so it's called scrub) which *might* 'refresh magnetisation of bad blocks (I'll create another list after that so I can compare); the first test is 25% done now :(. I also sorted out the 'clone' of the disk with the bad blocks (and Photos backup WIP), and have gone back to rescuing photos from my old Photos HD. That's still nerve-wrackingly sloooooow. And I spent money to get free stuff because I'm booooooored. Not good. I'm tired anyway. so, goodnight !tzaf !fediverse!

setting up my computers to use the Fritz!box as time server: that is already consulting the pool, no need for separate computers to do that as well. I only realized recently that the Fritz!box could do that: it's a handy feature. !til the program chrony can do different things than ntp, and is handy for laptops that cannot always poll a server - it was already installed by Fedora! #time #sync #ntp #chrony

!til about shuttle busses to/from Istanbul's airports (IST on the European side, SAW om the Asian side, where many low-bedget airlines land): in 2011 we used Havaş shuttle bus because we arrived too late to catch the metro which stops running at midnight: it was convenient and cheap; you'll still find many references and links to Havaş timetables: when I followed such a link, I found for both airports they're no longer operating the shuttle because the Municipality forbids them. Now I found that the Municipality started running their own shuttle buses, the service is called Havataş - and at the same time retracted Havaş' permit. Havaş filed a complaint with the court, which so far is unresolved. #onlyinistanbul... #travel
