  1. !yorkshirebronies If all else fails we could always just rent a projector and a fairly large room?

  2. !yorkshirebronies @mattus701 @klayking Hmm, I was kinda expecting something like that, they have to cover their flanks, after all. If we wanted to get a showing going, university facilities might be a better shot. The impression I've had (at least from Sheffield university) is that they've got more of a 'plausible deniability' policy: they don't want to know what you're doing with the auditorium, and it's on you if you get into trouble ; ) Aside from an actual auditorium, booking a lecture theatre to get access to the projectors in there would be a good alternate solution. That said, I think UoS only books out to societies, but it might be that they book out to any student with the cash for the fee. No idea what other uni's policies might be.

    • !yorkshirebronies Apparently also that cinema in the Light, right near the restaurant we went to, allows private hire of its screening rooms. Without ringing up I can't find much out, but I bet it will be pricey...

      • !yorkshirebronies Been doing some very half-arsed 5 minute research again. It does look to be quite far from Leeds city centre but so far, it looks feasable. Prices don't look half bad either! http://www.cottageroad.co.uk/privatehire.php http://g.co/maps/xwq77

        • !yorkshirebronies @trister the meal cost was £280 if I recall correctly. it sounds right. I personally spent £20 but assuming everyone spent £15 on average that would be £300. Assuming everyone (19 people as someone left) went bowling at £11/ea that's another £200. Places are expensive though - we may not really be able to do anything for that - but we'll just have to see! =3

        • !yorkshirebronies @wychwood Hah, yeah, we all surround Leeds! I vote Leeds for default location! Question is, do we ever want variation or do we want to almost always meet up there?

          • @purplephish20 !yorkshirebronies I've added you, purplephish, but for future reference, anyone should be able to add themselves from the link. Edit Button -> Right click map -> Add marker. Or you can search a place. =)

            • !yorkshirebronies I have no qualms about where we end up, as long as the date is accessible to everyone.

              • !yorkshirebronies @klayking York would be fine by me, but who else can make it is a significant factor. If it's not ideal then there's no reason we *cannot* do Leeds again if more people can make it that way. I put myself on the map - and google maps has an integrated short URL feature, so this should hopefully also work if you want to trim that beast down a bit: http://g.co/maps/zqusk

              • !yorkshirebronies Is still early days, so nothing is anywhere near certain, but I'm just looking at the map, wondering about good places for meetups. It seems that anywhere above the Leeds area is a whole bunch of nothingness for many miles. Sheffield is always an option providing there is a lot of interest from the !midlands, and York has been suggested to me before. I'm currently trying to find any function rooms with internet and a projector in York, but having little success (most likely because I'm not putting much effort into my search). Any locations / venue suggestions would be nice if you have ever thought about this before, too!

              • !yorkshirebronies Ok, I have a plan! Click the link which I will paste at the bottom of this message, hit the big red EDIT button on the left, search for your home town, right click the red marker that is over your town and click "Add a placemark". Name it as your RDN name or whatever and then we can all use this to see who is where! Be sure to hit Save where the EDIT button used to be! http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msid=207883910633223854902.0004b7dc65df8087f8aa6&msa=0&ll=53.925486,-1.822817&spn=0.084807,0.264187

                • !yorkshirebronies Snow might be detrimental for travelling, yeah. As for gathering people's locations it would probably be best to just e-mail them or something, so someone can gather locations and check from there. As for a place for a future meetup York is a little more northern if we end up going that way, it's also more eastern though, if that might be a problem

                  • !yorkshirebronies Apparently we will be getting snow in February. If this is the case, I think postponing the next meetup until March may be a sensible idea, what with travel and all. This gives plenty of time to plan stuff for the next meetup, such as location, activities and expected attendance. If we have 20+ again, what would you guys think about booking a function room? If we could get somewhere with internet, and a projector, who knows how much fun we could have!? What we need to do now though, is find a way of mapping everyone in the group, so we can find a good place that is near most of us. If I was more confident in my HTML skills, I would make a website for the group, but as it is I won't bother trying for now. P.S. Merrion Morrisons confirmed for not having blindbags.

                    • !yorkshirebronies @klayking we couldn't have done that anyway as it happens - I had a look when I was buying MLP magazine in there - it wasn't a big enough Morrisons and and didn't have any, unless I missed them somehow. Honestly this is probably just as well because I would hate to imagine the carnage that could ensue from 20 lustful bronies all fighting to get their hooves on numbers 7 and 11 (Rainbow Dash and Big Mac). Love and tolerance go out the window =P

                    • !yorkshirebronies If only we had known that blind bags were in Morrisons, we could have just stormed the one right next to the bowling alley, and still not been late! This said, I'm so checking it out if I can actually sneak away from my classmates whilst we are in there tommorow lunchtime.

Due to a bugger up with trains (not my fault) I arrived in sheffield 10 minutes after the train I was going to then get had left... so I then had to spend nearly an hour waiting for the next one.... which meant I could have stayed for the extra hour and had that second game of bowling I payed for... (DISCORD in lane 4, I won the one game I played) However I did rendezvous again with @yorkiebrony when he got off his train from leeds.... You where the one I was sat opposite from in Brio's right? (lots of download festival discussion)...... All in all great day!!!
