@problmedpony (CONTINUED) There's fundamentally a good-natured, uncyncical aspect to the show (if we put aside the fact that it was initially produced, in part, to sell toys to children), which is also refreshing to me. This has been reflected in the "brony" community itself, which has, by and large, tried to make itself actively more welcoming than other fan communities... on the negative side, there can be a large degree of hypocrisy in some community members' treatment of non-fans. They can be just as intolerant to those who do not like the show as percieved "trolls". It is just a show, and I believe ponies should find it in their own time, if they wish to... (well, I think thats about it for now, glad I could be of help!)

@problmedpony Okay, my reasons for liking the show? ... It was probably the beautiful flash animation intrigued me to start with, but I soon began to appreciate how well the stories were crafted, and how well the messages were integrated into many of them. I was refreshed that the "moral" aspect of the show was not based on the sort of black and white, judgmental 'DRUGS ARE BAD' preaching of some 80s and 90s shows, and tended instead to be based on establishing and maintaining mutually successful relationships with other people. The way the characters grew and twisted expectations through the first season was also a key element of its appeal for me. I didn't really like Pinkie Pie and Rarity to start with, but this changed considerably as the season went on ('Suited for Success' is a good example, I feel, of an episode that created a more sympathetic understanding of one of the main characters). The music, both incidental and vocal, is excellent, as is the ensemble voice cast.

@problmedpony No. If your a pony and you want to fist bump its a bro hoof. if it's imitating a hive five it's a high hoof.

@lightningracer Listening to the audio reading of Fallout Equestria, while trying to make my own OC pony. I'm stuck on the "where are my pencils and erasers" stage.

@lightingracer I'm sure I'll get to that eventually. I intend to do as many of the songs from the series as possible.
