@everypony The strikes are mostly strikes with the blade, rather than thrusts, which would be just as effective if you performed them with a blunt object. There are other weapons that are more likely to improvise, but our instructor isn't qualified (or insured) to teach them. He's good to teach Nunchucks and he's just got certified for the swords.
