@pianissima The evaporator was in fact quite cool, as the hot gas solenoid wasn't working properly; the machine could not complete the harvest cycle. I looked to see if the solenoid had voltage going to it via my test leads, but my finger slipped and I ended up feeling it instead. :P

@pianissima Eeyup. I am going to wait to see what happens after I graduate in the spring. I could end up moving somewhere else depending on which HVAC contractor would hire me.

@pianissima I believe $300 of the deposit would be refundable, but I wouldn't see that until I moved somewhere else. When a parent has a child that can potentially wreck an apartment, no special deposit is involved. If I had a cat that could potentially leave a hairball on the carpet or mess around with some blinds, I have to pay $500. Nonsense.

@pianissima That machine was supposed to have 22 ounces of R-404a in it, but I only pulled 5.5 ounces out of it before putting the system into a vacuum and recharging it. The cow is clever, for she knows that if the machine can't make any ice, people will ask for her milk instead of soft drinks.
