@kingcarcinopony @tenure is 32, and I'm sure he's not the only brony in his 30s. Heck, in 3 and a half years, if the fandom still exists, and I'm still a part of it, *I'll* be here in my 30s. XD
-
@tenure Oh lord, I hope my infectious personality didn't cause this. Get better, Dude! <3
-
@tenure That's too bad. Feel better soon.

@tenure Remember that one bit-part actor who got on the Western Express train and was promptly shooed off by Mickey Rooney? And I got all excited that I recognized him but couple place his name? Turns out that was a young Ed Begley, Jr. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000893/

@tenure THOSE LAST 5 MINUTES!! ARRGG!!! But yes, it was a pleasant afternoon and evening. :3
-
@tenure Was awesome meeting up with you man, thanks for the ice cream - cant wait to hang out again at the picnic!
-
@tenure of course. that's why I wrote that text in parentheses. There are places *anywhere* that can be gotten for cheap or free unless you have an absurdly large group, and for a first meetup, you won't.
-
@tenure lol, reservation costs. I'd like to add to that, some places are really apples-retentive or just plain dumb, and ask for things that you can't really provide (like exact headcounts a month in advance) or insist on charging per-person or something. Those places suck, and if you're in a decent sized city you can surely find a suitable location that you don't have to pay to reserve. (or at least, a place that you can easily cover the costs of yourself)
-
@generalzoi: "But the only things I hear anywhere are just "To the moon!" and "lol derpy"." Well that's mean. But, I suggest you find the group nearest you first here: http://www.bronies.com/map/ and then ask to see who might be interested in a get together. Then, if you find that there's some interest, then advertise in as many locations as possible, especially ponychan in /collab/, since that seems to be the place where Sethisto from EqD looks for new meet-ups. If you're on facebook, you can also create an event for people to rsvp to... At least, this is what @tenure and I did.
-
@tenure Therein lies the problem, because I don't know what a suitable venue would be. I've been trying to ask people what they've seen people do at meetups, but no luck.

@tenure Well http://ur1.ca/4w616

@tenure !centralflbronies Awesome. I'm just worried about food. XD
-
@tenure Wow, I'm not sure I want to be that dedicated. Then again, I'm not a gamer, so ya go. :P *has minor flashbacks to dream last night when a preg test she took came up positive* x_x;
-
@topocruz !centralflbronies @Dashidash, @Tenure, and I will all go (since we're the ones putting the thing together). It'd be nice to meet you there, too. n.n

@tenure No swimming in the river. Plus, there are at least 2 if not up to 6 people coming from Orlando, and maybe more later. Something to keep in mind if we have it closer to Tampa.
-
@tenure The $4.00 swimming fee for Hillsborough River is per person. However, it's not in the river, it's in a swimming pool, which kinda makes it a little less cool. The spring doesn't have a cover cost.
-
@tenure And apparently Hillsborough River State Park has a $4.00 swimming entrance fee, so that's another thing to consider.
-
@tenure I've found two potential spots both in the Florida State Park system, which means the entry fee is $6.00 per multi-occupancy vehicle (2-8 people) and $4.00 for single occupancy. One is closer to Tampa, Hillsborough River State Park (http://floridastateparks.org/hillsboroughriver/default.cfm) and the other is closer to Orlando, Wekiwa Springs (http://floridastateparks.org/wekiwasprings/).

@tenure Forum is broken for me, too. I guess the host server is down.
-
@tenure Interview went well but I'm exhausted. I'll create a thread tomorrow on ponychan, that is, unless you want to do it.
-
@tenure I didn't. Also, I tried to register for the forum but I never received the email confirmation, so if you could at least post the facebook link there, that may help. I'll also try to remember to make a post about it on Ponychan later this afternoon or evening, depending on my mood after the interview, i.e. if I bomb, I'll be too busy wallowing in self-pity to want to post anything.
-
@tenure If that link doesn't work for you, then look up The Rain Rain Go Away, Labor Day, Pony Party Picnic! (Facebook made me shorten it. >.<!!)
-
@tenure Thanks! Oh, and I'm creating the event now. I'll post the link once I'm done.
-
@tenure Basically, I'm still looking up sites, but maybe we can get a suggestion from some other TB bronies. (Plus, I need to start getting ready for bed since I have a big day tomorrow. x.x)
-
@tenure I love it! You wanna post that on the forum in the meetup section with "location to be announced soon" and I'll make a facebook event page?
-
@tenure Hmm, I'm familiar with some of those. Would you think a park where you can swim would be good? Also, I'll need to look into which parks have the lowest admission (preferably none). In the meantime, how about a day and time. Saturday September 3rd at 11:00 am?
-
@tenure OMG YES! I'd say, either have it be potluck or byob(food?). If it's a potluck, though, we'd need to make sure everyone listed what they were bringing. If it's byo... then not a problem. In fact, I'm leaning towards the second, but I'd still try to bring something to share with everyone, like cookies or cupcakes or whatever. As far as parks go, I'd say one that has covered pavilions since the weather may not cooperate (darn you late summer Tampa weather!!)
