Yes. tmux good. screen, as the more commonly installed one, is acceptable up until you want to split along the vertical (it can’t).

Though as @tekk said, you can achieve it in screen with dvtm if you prefer that environment. I just use a tiling window manager so eh

what's wrong with terminator? Also: you can do it inside any terminal emulator using tmux (similar to screen)
