Okay, note to myself. Never touch repositories. Never touch programs. I just tried to install the #Debian testing version of #KDE and apt decided to fulfill it by not actually installing it but REMOVING PROBABLY TWO-THIRDS OF THE SYSTEM PACKAGES. Including Xorg, my ATI drivers and all of my DE stuff I think.
Bloody hell. I don't know how I do it! Guess I'm reinstalling... Again. Maybe I should just document every single thing I do somewhere so that someone better can rescue me next time... HA! Like that will work, I have problems that nobody else has ever had before. I make huge system-killing mistakes out of doing normal stuff.Tuesday, 08-Apr-14 03:50:29 UTC from web -

@snowcone Hello there.

well I got out of my course for the day and as I was jogging up to the bus stop waving my arms and bananas it just leaves. So I decide mangoes it I'm going to walk. All the way home. It didn't take as long as I thought it would honestly but still bout 45 minutes straight walking through two suburbs and up and down hills. By the time the next bus rolled by me I was 5 minutes from home. So. There you go.

"Sometimes you have to forget what you feel and remember what you deserve."
Monday, 31-Mar-14 12:26:08 UTC from web-
@snowcone It's not that you need to FORGET what you know. It's that you need to CHALLENGE what you've ALREADY learned. Remember it and compare/contrast it.
-
@snowcone You're wrong, though. You need to remember things that have helped you that you've learned throughout life. You've seemingly approaching the whole subject from a scientific point of view, though a lot of this isn't scientifically qualifiable.
-
@snowcone *shrugs* Except that you're not. You like to troll, though. A lot.

@snowcone Cool.

@snowcone ...I've been waiting on a couple of 3.5mm-to-1/4" adapters to arrive, but I ordered them on the 11th and they've just disappeared. I'm giving those up as lost, but as it turns out the headphones I got the other day came with a couple (because they are basically professional, studio monitoring headphones) so I can sort of make my mixer setup work. I was going to pipe the output from my Blue Yeti mic into it as well so I could basically record everything in one hit but the Yeti doesn't do that. I could upgrade to the Blue Yeti Pro which has an XLR output that will plug into the mixer, but do I /really/ need that? So it's just sort of sitting there.
-
@snowcone Basically. It would be another $200 or $250.
-
@snowcone I went off the grid to calm down.

Again and again a lot of people here have gotten away with things that newer members would be banned for. In the past, maybe that was okay. I am no longer sitting on my laurels as we seem to do and I'm taking action. All the repeat offenders are hereby permanently banned as of right now. If Nerthos and friends want to have an open forum on words not mattering and being gangsters and NSFW, they can go to another StatusNet site, because no matter what the staff has or hasn't done, they have consistently been breaking rules, even when we weren't making rules because of them. I'm not going to be bargained with, I'm not going to be reasoned with.
Of course, knowing this site they'll probably be back by the end of the day because status quo.Sunday, 30-Mar-14 09:56:27 UTC from web- Solidus Sans and Crusader 8 like this.

I found myself looking at alternate MP3 players, partly because I wondered what they were like and partly because I was looking at stuff that would be compatible with my system. I stumbled onto a brand called Cowon and, holy crap, these look pretty.

This campaign's catchphrase from my D&D group will be "party alarm!". When we wanted to interrogate a cultist he suddenly screamed "alarm!" and we killed him immediately. Our groups changeling tried to take his clothes while the rest hid in some bed chambers and took the dead body away. The changeling didn't finish putting all the clothes, in fact the changeling was almost naked and changed its appearance into the cultist's, and another cultist came in and wanted to see why someone screamed "alarm!". The changeling made a very good bluff check and screamed "party alarm!" while dancing without clothes. The other cultist was shocked and went backwards out of the room.
