  1. @zeldatra How were the tariffs affecting... Know what, maybe nevermind

  2. An almost fantastic level of unthought out this way today, like could anyone ever explain this to someone who can't figure this out on their own?

  3. Got coworkers talking about how their doctors told them they have vitamin D deficiency. They complain it makes no sense because they're out in the sun all day. Except they wear long sleeves and pants and a sun hat, and I'm just sitting here thinking "You understand that only the backs of your hands and random odd angles of your face ever get any actual sun exposure though, right?"

  6. I find that the screen keyboard on my phone seems to be more or less of a piece of crap depending on what app or field I'm typing into, but in no case is it unlike trying to speak with one's tongue cut out and jaw wired shut. I hope there's a Hell bad enough for Steve Jobs.

  7. @adiwan As someone who shaves maybe a fraction of their face, maybe once a week, I just laugh at the wasted sponsor money every time I see one

  9. "Inland Empire," in this case. Like the David Lynch film! Only more unreal and perplexing.

  20. Meanwhile other USA citizens ask me if I'm from England or Canada or somewhere. Do I really not sound Californian? I say "dude" just all the damn time!

  21. @zeldatra My dad has the absolute thinnest accent of his side of the family, and even he was able to be pinned down to what part of the Chesapeake Bay he grew up on by a dude he met in Long Beach for about ten minutes

  22. My dad was showing me something of an old guy from Maryland, where Dad's from. Dude had a wicked thick accent, but I could mostly follow him while he was talking with the interviewer. But once another local came up and they started talking, man, I swear it went from "dialect" to "whole new language" as far as I could hear

  23. @adiwan That actually is pretty interesting, language stuff is always a trip to me.
