@delores missing is increased by having low fatigue, so bring a couple restore fatigue potions with you before battle, or don't run constantly. also, agility governs how much you hit/miss, so reroll your character to prioritize it and strength. training only goes so far, and won't give you a very noticeable boost. this will all get better after a couple level ups, which can be gained without getting into combat. experience is gained by using your skills, so hitting an enemy with a short sword will automatically give you experience for that skill. if your major/minor skills level up 10 times, you get a level up (where you can increase attributes). this again goes into the character roll: pick major/minor skills you're going to use constantly, like block, a certain weapon type, athletics fighter's guild's first few quests are a good tutorial, and helps you earn exp. do as much as you can asap hud and dialog are things you just have to get used to, …
