@mrdragon I'm impressed by it
-
@mrdragon the components of the cluster are single core machines with 1gb of RAM.
-
@mrdragon Apparently the cluster can handle about 50 notices a second (though not for too long, as various grades of DDoS protection start to spin up after that)
-
@mrdragon I think I have it working consistently now. I think?
-
@mrdragon >Favourite a notice >Refresh the page >Nothing >Refresh again >It's favourited >Refresh again >No it isn't. Astounding.
-
@mrdragon It probably doesn't help that I'd got replication configured wrongly so they wouldn't actually replicate, but the load balancer was putting requests through to a different server each time, leading to wacky results.
-
@mrdragon This is supposed to be a multi-master load balanced cluster, so consistency is going to be a real problem.
-
So Statusnet does not, entirely unsurprisingly, work well with a cluster. Or maybe my cluster doesn't work well with statusnet. There seems to be...disputes, between the three units that cause posts to just vanish.
-
@mrdragon I've gotta build it first. You never built lego models just to smash em up?
-
Secondary node coming online.
-
The cluster is bootstrapped. Now replicating the data.

I am actually doing this ridiclous mysql thing. God help me I'm actually doing it.
-
@coffeecream Are you up all night? Are you getting lucky?
-
@mrdragon THREE MYSQL SERVERS. MORE THAN ENOUGH TO KILL ANYTHING THAT MOVES
-
I should set up a mysql cluster. That seems like it'd be good for a laugh.
-
@madflavors Oh but I do. I love Worldfire.
-
-
@madflavors It's barely present proof. I can tell you right now that the Xbox One is literally going to make children cry on christmas when the auth servers get slammed and nobody can play.
-
@madflavors I mean even assuming that they're irrevocably committed to their current plan, the goddamn president of the Xbox division should not be allowed to get away with saying "Don't buy our new product" .
-
@vt3c @madflavors Much as I don't want to be a part of the "Xbox One = Literally Hitler" circlejerk, someone should probably have words with Mattrick over that one. Words like "Please don't say anything else without running it by a PR team first"
-
“Fortunately we have a product for people who aren’t able to get some form of [internet] connectivity: it’s called XBox 360” —Don Mattrick

@pokestrike Actually when you click "I accept the terms and conditions" you're...accepting their terms and conditions. For instance, their right to get rid of you for being underage.
-
@scoot Eevee makes a contract.
-
@scoot Listen if you don't enjoy the imagery of tiny Evees coming out of the tall grass to rub on you then nobody can help you
-
@rarity These are the people who took a whole generation to give Charizard flying.
-
@rarity I can't believe they didn't confirm goddamn Clefairy as a fairy type.
-
@rarity That's pretty much /why/ they're upset.
