  4. I really don't know how they managed to make the install experience for pump.io so much worse than even regular statusnet, but they did. That seems worthy of praise.

  9. @flamingpandaomg I do. It has my furry-code on it. That way everyone can know my species, interests and fetishes in a simple, completely incomprehensible, impossible to remember format!

  13. My Cloudflare>Varnish>Nginx>Php-FPM>Memcached>Percona stack was able to server 95 requests per second, for a statusnet public timeline, with realtime enabled, on a machine with 1gb of RAM. They're hella efficient.

  14. @redenchilada I sent the proposed fix to Widget this weekend and he favourited the link, so presumably he's thinking of implementing it. I'd like to point out that when I turned cloudflare on to buffer @mrdragon's server, it cut bandwidth usage by a full third.

  15. @neurario In truth I'm probably going to spin one up anyway just to play with it. I'll send you a link when it's up.

  16. @redenchilada I only just figured out how to fix that problem too.

Monday, 10-Jun-13 08:00:14 UTC from StatusNet Desktop in context
  17. @redenchilada Because Cloudflare uses an Nginx reverse proxy for its cache-and-accelerate deal, all requests appear to come from the same limited pool of cloudflare IPs, with the real IPs showing up in a different part of the header. Nginx, which we're running here, by default, does not pass the required info on to statusnet. The practical upshot of that is that every time a new person logged in, all users ended up being logged into that persons account.

  18. @redenchilada I do that all the time. Remember the "Cloudflare means everyone logs in as someone else" issue?

Monday, 10-Jun-13 07:49:53 UTC from StatusNet Desktop in context
  19. @redenchilada They let me touch it. I don't see how you could be any worse. Yesterday I managed to delete all my webserver configs by overwriting them with symlinks to themselves.
