@metaltao The nice thing about a centralized network storage device is its easier to backup because its all in one spot and even if my laptop harddrive blows up my data is safe.
I can also access files from anywhere once i setup my network address forwarding

finally got around to re purposing an older system as a dedicated ftp server to put everything in one place.
