@jojo I guess if you show up to a meetup with 10 people who already know each other and don't know anyone, it's kind of weird to try and fit in. Doubly weird if they're carrying a flag and blasting pony music on some portable iPod speakers.

@abigpony A large meetup would be the safer bet, in my mind. At a large meet up, a higher proportion of the attendees are strangers to one another, so it's more possible for adhoc groups to form naturally amongst those who don't already know people.

@jojo I think the full age range was from about 16 at the youngest to mid 20's at the eldest.

@jojo 22 here, so I'm one of, if not the, eldest there. When they were blasting the music and yelling in the street I could not facepalm hard enough TBH. Especially given the number of cops around. That said, I travelled with @cptscoot, who is one of the younger ones, and who was equally bothered by it.

@jojo I think they were just having trouble judging the mood of the event. Once they'd got a handle on the fact that more than half of us were bothered by what was happening, they stopped.

@abigpony It was uncomfortable until everyone came down off their contact high and settled into it. After that happened, we had a pretty good, chill time. The solution is to arrive late.

@ceruleanspark I know what it's like for that meetup contact high (I see it all the time at anime cons). Just make sure you don't do anything too crazy, lest you cause problems for those around you

@tenmihara @ceruleanspark Hay... seems I embarrassed more people than I intended to... in fact, if it wasn't for tiredness sweeping over me, I probably would have continued in much the same vein for the rest of the meet... presumably until I was excommunicated. I wasn't trying to get in people's grills... I just like challenging folk to laugh as I make my way through the day, even if its in a 'what's wrong with that freak?' kinda way. I really didn't realise that I was making folk uncomfortable... so for that, I apologise. How y'all doing today anyhoo?

@pawnheart I didn't wanna say anything since everypony seemed to be having a good time, so it's fine. If I'd been really mortified I'd have said something. As it was, I was just mildly uncomfortable. Don't worry about it. You were fine, I'm just too highly strung.

@pawnheart Nah, I was tired too. Admittedly, not as tired as you, but tired enough to want to lie down once I got in. Scoot had to travel for a couple more hours after leaving leicester too, so I was concerned about him getting home super late.

@pawnheart Really, don't worry about it. I don't like the unnecessary ghettoblasting of tunes anyway. Combine that with the idea that we weren't really trying to draw much attention to ourselves and it sort of... becomes contrary to the point. But really, each to their own. Most ponies were having fun, and it's hard to not draw attention to a squadron of young adult males (like those girls who thought we were going to start a riot). Plus, you seem like a really genuinely nice guy, so I wouldn't worry about it. :)
