  1. As somehow demonstrated by me and Gherkin, people don't have a problem with the idea of on-site relationships per-se, but what routinely goes on here is not "conducting a relationship" it's "Spamming the site". Just because you're posting the word "hugs" over and over instead of hawking viagra doesn't make it any less irritating for anyone else attempting to conduct a conversation.

    1. @ceruleanspark Exactly. Whenever that happens I wind up just using my friend's timeline. (as I said in another notice I posted just now)

      1. @leonkfox losely toying with the idea of making an RDNRefresh type script that just hides posts containing specific usernames or tags.

        1. @ceruleanspark tags not names

          1. @zach121k It's still spam, quit trying to argue semantics.

          2. @zach121k Wouldn't being able to edit...certain people...out of the public timeline be useful? I can think of at least once person you'd probably like to never hear from again.

        2. @ceruleanspark Shame that would only work on the website though. Still, it's a good idea nonetheless.

          1. @leonkfox I was thinking you could make a whole enhancement suite. Make it show a notification when you get a PM or an @reply. Make it highlight posts from groups you're in differently. Stuff like that. Maybe change the layout so it's less horrible on non-widescreen devices.

            1. @ceruleanspark That does sound pretty awesome, if ever put into action. ^^

              1. @leonkfox I might give it a try. The only thing I'm sort of hesitant about is if I write it, then statusnet updates to add all those features, then I've wasted my time.

                1. @ceruleanspark StatusNet Desktop never seems to get updated as far as I can tell, so you should be fine. (I do still love using the client when I'm on my main PC though)

    2. @ceruleanspark I was going to post a post like this, but then decided it wasn't worth my time or effort.
