    1. @gherkin I missed that poll. I'd pay!

      1. @ceruleanspark But the majority wouldn't. :( Unless I start them cheap...

        1. @gherkin I've seen some artists have success with $5 sketch deals, but you don't really do "quick dirty sketches"

        2. @gherkin You've also got to remember that the majority won't pay for ANYTHING, EVER.

          1. @ceruleanspark Hmm. Maybe I could sell prints. Technically, they would have to have no copyrighted ponies on them. I think I've got an idea to get around this, but I'm not sure that's an idea for a print that folks would buy.

            1. @gherkin What's the plan?

              1. @ceruleanspark @rotation I remember reading that DA supports fan characters, so long as you file all the serial numbers of and don't mention which fandom they're from. Similarly, if you draw a character in a way that isn't official (for example, ponies as humans) the holder can't claim the copyright. Of course, I can't find where it said that, now.

                1. @gherkin How does this solve your problem though? Unless you're going to sell prints of human ponies?

                  1. @ceruleanspark I've an idea. *taps nose confidentially*

                    1. @gherkin In before banned from DA and then sued.

                      1. @ceruleanspark I think they've changed their policies, actually. There used to be an example in their FAQ... 'You may not sell: "here is my original Star Wars character, he is a Jedi and likes cutting up Stormtroopers with his lightsabre", however you may sell: 'here is my original character, he is a battle monk and likes cutting up enemy soldiers with his laser sword'".

                        1. @gherkin Battle monk just doesn't sound right and brings up memories of battle pope.

                          1. @neonflash What are Jedi if not battle monks?

                            1. @gherkin Fictional for a start. They are also galactic peace keepers. So I think "My stunning galactic peace keeper with a very lethal flashlight" just sounds cooler.

    2. @rotation But he can already charge for the act of actually drawing those.

    3. @rotation I've always been skint. Say, that's a nice pound coin you have there. It would be a shame if something were to HAPPEN to it...
